Need cheap florist recs

My fiance and I are getting married in August and just got engaged.  Any suggestions for cheap florists in the Philadelphia area?  We are even interested in someone just starting out, or a hobby florist in the area.  Thanks!

  • We are using Leslie from Whimsical Welcomes.  If you have a tight budget, she will work around it.  Her pricing is really based on the flowers you choose, and she's easy to work with.http://www.whimsicalwelcomes.com/

  • I'm using Whimsical welcomes also.  Leslie is amazing.  She is very honest about what can and can't be done with a wedding budget.  She'll make suggestions to make things possible and affordable but you do need to be realistic about your expectations.  I think that her creativity is a big part of making things work out to your satisfaction and she does a lot of work preparing many ideas for a meeting.  I think her work is great and I can't wait to see my flowers. Check out her flowers on her website and blog.  www.whimsicalwelcomesflowers.blogspot.com
  • We are using Distinctive Florals by Mary out of Coopersburg (right on Route 309 - 610-282-2211).  No one could touch her prices and I've seen her work and have talked to other brides that have used her.  She's very laid back and will work within your budget (her quote was actually lower than my budget - booked her on the spot!)

If you are on a tight budget, I know some grocery stores have floral departments. It doesn't sound ideal for a wedding, but my sister-in-law is using ShopRite for her wedding in September. The flowers are very reasonable, because they only charge you the price of the flowers without adding labor. I, myself, am thinking of looking into a few stores. I will admit I am worried about them looking perfect, but hopefully they would have pictures to show and someone to speak to who is going to be the go-to person who is in charge. I am going to look around and see. Just another option if you want to check one out. I know for her, the price was SO much better, that even though she was apprehensive, she ordered a sample of what her bouquet would look like (for pretty cheap) to see beforehand how it would turn out. I guess she was pleased enough because she is going with them.

  • You are completely right!  I just called Giant, and they have packages starting at $99.  The flowers are not my main concern, I just feel like we need to have something.  Thank you sooooo much!!

Glad I could help :) I don't think a lot of people look in those places for their wedding day, but if they are not something that is on the top of your list as far as what is important, they are worth looking into I think. Can save you a ton. Hope they turn out lovely!!

  • KIARA AND COMPANY FLOWER SHOP DOES AMAZING WORK!
  • I'm looking for bouquets on a budget.  To those other budget conscious brides, how much did you spend on your bouquets?
