You can read my review below.  I ended up going with Betty's Bridal on Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights. It's definitely worth checking out.

I can also recommend Sabrina Ann in Ardmore for sample dresses and once worn gowns.  It's a very nice little boutique with high end gowns. It's not like a thrift shop, more like a real bridal salon.

And I have a very good experience with the David's Bridal in Springfield.  Its a "nice" DB.  We got all of our BM dresses there.

I had great experiences at Frank Bernard's and Brides & Grooms - both in Delaware.

I had an okay experience at Bridal & Tuxedo Shoppe in Delaware - my only critique was that they were not willing to give any discounts.

I had the worst experience ever at the Alfred Angelo Store in Cherry Hill, NJ - they are incompetant & nasty.

I chose to shop in New Jersey & Delaware to save on tax. Not sure if that is an option for you.

I have had great experiences at Bella Moda in Conshohocken. They have a nice, big selection on bridesmaid dresses.

I did not have a good experience at Arielle Bridal in Ambler. We would have actually gotten the bridesmaid dresses there if they were helpful in the least bit. Their service made me go somewhere else, I'll put it that way!

I loved the bridal and tuxedo shoppe- they gave me $100 for buying that day. Plus, no PA tax.

I went with my friend to the one in Kennett (I can't remember the name at all... fail.) and they were awesome.

I LOVED The Wedding Shoppe in Wayne. I went to a bunch of places and they were, by far, my favorite. They were really knowledgeable and worked well within my budget. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I had great experiences at La Bella Moda in Conshy (ask for Tracy) and at Bijou Bridal in Ardmore.  I ended up getting my dress at La Bella Moda and have been very pleased so far.  I went to Harleysville Bridal as well, but it was so small and the lady that helped me was more interested in talking about her life then focusing on me.

I had a great experience at Bijou Bridal.  I loved working with Katie.  I tried on so many gowns and I didn't feel like I was burdening them.

I didn't have such a great experience at Priscilla of Boston. I loved the gowns, they are gorgeous, but the salesperson that I had wasn't so great. she was def. in it just to sell, sell and sell, not for the experience.

    good luck!

<div>THIS!  I had a similarly awful experience at PoB.  Bijou was fantastic, and ditto to Sabrina Ann in Ardmore.</div>

    Coronet's Bridal is awesome!

I got to go dress shopping for the first time yesterday - My mom, aunt, and one of my BM's, all from MN, surprised me by coming into town for my birthday, and they were sneaky and found out that Coronets was the  shop I was supposed to go to a few weeks ago but had to cancel because my car broke.

So we went to Coronet's Bridal in NE Philly, where I had gotten a few BM dresses previously, and had a good expereience so I wanted to go there first. They were amazing! They have a HUGE selection, and the lady who helped me, Charlotte, was just great. She encouraged us to pull as many dresses as we wanted, and she also pulled things that fell into what I had described, and a few things that were outside of my comfort zone. She pulled a dress I would never have looked at, and it's in my top two right now! Also, the employees there don't work on commission, so they don't try to push you into a sale, which I really liked because I knew I wouldn't be purchasing right away. And the owner, who I believe is also the seamstress, was on the floor and available for alterations questions, which was great because I don't want a train, and she made the suggestion of hemming the under layering, but leaving the lace long, so that it's basicaly a lace train, which is not something I would ever have though of, and I love the idea!

Also, their alterations are $250 and that inclues EVERYTHING. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think that's an amazing deal. Although I'm basically having the train cut off on whatever dress I pick out, and I'm super short so it'll have to be majorly hemmed, so for me it's a great deal, as just a hem on the dresses I like would probably be $200 alone.

So to sum up my long opinion, Coronet's is amazing! Their dresses are very affordable, the employees are awesome, and you will love your experience there! :)

I ditto Cackle's review of Coronets.  I loved them there.

I ultimately purchased my dress from Country Bride and Gent in Bensalem.  I had a lot of issues wit hthe dress (none of the shops problems-- all from the manufacturer) and the manager, Sue, handled it like a champ.

My sales woman was Michelle and I adored her.  She is gonna give you her honest opinion, so be prepared, but it's better then lip service.  I really appriciated it because she helped me see that the dress I thought I wanted was not what I wanted at all.  She's kind of awesome.

From my experience, i liked the ladies at David's Bridal in Plymouth Meeting & Macy's Bridal store in Cherry Hill Mall. They were nice and a personal towards me. Maybe it also helped that i didnt go on a busy day either :)

DONT go to David's Bridal on the Roosevelt Blvd (too crowded, took 2 hours just to try on 3 dresses) or the Alfred Angelo in Cherry Hill (snarky, not friendly).
