Cherokee Ranch and Castle

Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the Cherokee Ranch and Castle in Sedalia? We did a site visit today for a potential reception and ceremony spot.  You girls are smart and helpful!  I'd love to hear your thoughts on the place. Thanks!!Erin

Hi Erin,The castle is SO beautiful.  I have not had any other experience with it other than they told me there was absolutely no dancing in the castle... that was enough to deter me, but if not, it looks like a wonderful location.  Good luck!Mary

I have been there many times, also for a wedding show they did there last september. It is beautiful, you do have to have most of the wedding outside in the tent, which is equally beautiful. They had a really sweet wedding cordinator there but then she quit, so I don't know who is taking over that. I would just make sure you have all the rules for the castle so there isn't any last minute surprises. If you can get married at a Castle then...Why not!?

I was looking at the castle for my wedding.  My husband is Scottish and wore a kilt for the wedding, so a Scottish castle would have been the perfect setting.  But just like mbcarney said, the 'no dancing in the castle' rule was enough to turn me away.  I remember them saying they would give castle tours every 1/2 hour or something for guests.  I just thought that was really weird and not really wedding-ish, so I opted against it.  I ended up having my wedding at The Sanctuary Golf Course (which you can see from the castle) and it was WONDERFUL!  Gorgeous views and a beautiful venue. I do think the castle is a really cool place and if you're ok with not doing too much in it, and more around it, then I'd say go for it cause it's beautiful.
