3 q's- E save the dates, Hudson Gardens May 2010, hair person..

Hi! I have no idea what I'm doing and everyone here seems so savvy!I was wondering if it was tacky to send E Save the Dates (better for environment, also more cost effective). My wedding is Memorial Day Weekened 2010 at Hudson Gardens so do I need to send them out 9 months before since it's a holiday and I have out of towners? Also, those who are doing Hudson Gardens...how are you doing music there? Processional music etc? Also, good hair person in Denver? Do people do free wedding hair trials? So much I don't know!

i had a friend send out an electronic invite and i didn't find it tacky at all. i would send out STD's no later than 9 months out bc it's a holiday weekend esp mem day weekend since lots of people travel that weekend. my gal charged $50 for the trial but put that cost toward the final total. her name was liz with Beauty on Location by Liz - review in bio...she was awesome!!

I think doing e STD's will depend on your guests.  Do you have a lot of older family members that aren't internet savvy?  If you KNOW that everyone will be getting the STD go for it.  I'm not a fan of e STD's or invites but that's just me.9 months is fine.  I would think anywhere in the 7-9 month range should be enough time to make reservations. My hair person is only charging me $20 for my trial.  I know like pp said- lots of stylists will out that amount toward your final payment.  Same with MU artists.

I was Memorial Weekend of this year and we sent our STD's 6 months before and were fine, but it also depends on your guests. And like Amy said, depends on your guests for the e save the dates as well.

I think that e-save the dates are fine. I've heard of couples making video's and sending them. Try youtube for some examples. 9 months is OK. I don't think that there is a rule about when to send save the dates. We sent ours around the 7-month mark. As far as wedding hair, I can't help you right now. I think I found someone, but not sure yet!

I like the idea of E-save the dates, but my only concern is that not everyone that will be invited to the wedding has access to the internet, an e-mail address, or even a computer. Seriously, my fiance's mom does not have a computer or the internet. Not to mention grandparents. You could always do E-STD's, then send paper ones to those few who you know don't have that great of access to a computer/internet:)
