Gourmet Fine Catering?

Has anyone here ever used them before? I am looking for a review on how things were handled, etc. On anther note- is there anywhere on this website where I can find reviews of vendors, besides on personal bio's?Thanks!

I am not using them, but I did check them out.  They were a preferred vendor for two venues I was interested in.  When we met with them, things were great in person and we were assured that they could fit our budget, theme, etc.  However when we got our proposal, it was triple our budget and there were several misc. charges that could not adequately be explained.  I checked their BBB raiting at the time and they were graded an F because they had several unresolved issues with ex-customers.  All of these issues combined gave me a bad feeling, so we moved on to another company.  There are several ladies on this board who love them.  I'm not sure if they had their weddings yet.  I can't recall reading a final vendor review on them, but all the ladies who chose them and are in the process of getting married have raved about them.

I am using them because they are the exclusive catering company at my venue. Their food is supposed to be amazing and I'm doing a first tasting on the 27th, so i can post again after that! Honestly, their customer service isn't stellar, but it also isn't horrible. I actually fired my first event designer because she wasn't returning my calls/e-mails. I have a new one now, Jolene, and so far things with her are great. I'm excited to use them, they have a great reputation in the community and they have been in business for ages. Good Luck!

We had our wedding at the Parkside Mansion in May.  Gourmet was the preferred caterer so we went with them.  The food was fabulous, and the "day of" service was great... but that is where my compliments end.  We worked with Jolene and she constantly had our names spelt wrong, our dates and phone numbers wrong.  She took days and sometimes longer to respond to phone calls and emails.   Following the wedding they were supposed to return our unopened alcohol to Argonaut and over $200 of wine was "lost" and we were accused of lying about the left over amount of wine.  We went through a lot of headaches to be reimbursed by the owner who was at first very nice, but in the end was very, very rude to us. In the end, our guests had no idea and everything looked great, but I don't think their service is worth the pain. Good luck!

Same experience with the estimate being three times what we said our budget was!
