New bride here!

We got engaged Christmas Eve  and are just now thinking about a location for our wedding.  I'd like to stay in Montgomery County.  Since this is my second marriage (his first) i don't want anything like a country club or a wedding ballroom. We just want to celebrate with a big fun paryt at someplace a little different.  I'd like a place that only does one wedding at a time, has an outside ceremony site, and holds about 125-150 guests maybe. Any good ideas?  And since I don't want to repeat anything I've done before, I'll definitely be asking you ladies for more help.  Thanks so much for any suggestions.

  • Congratulations.  The Foundry and Columbia Station in Phoenixville are practically on the border of Montco and Chester County.  Both have what you're looking for.  I've been to weddings at both of them and they're great.  If you check out www.partyspace.com you can get some more ideas. There are some tented historical places that might interest you.
  • Congrats! I am not familiar with that area but I am sure I could help with other things!

  • Fun! I got engaged in August, but am new to these boards. I'll be looking for help too!

jimbosbride: Have you looked at The Merion Cricket Club? I went to a post-wedding, wedding there (they had a family only destination wedding and the another reception for family + friends back in PA). The rooms and the grounds are gorgeous.
