Poll: spending likes/dislikes

I'm a little bored today so I thought I'd throw a poll out there! What did you dislike/regret spending money on for the wedding? What did you love spending money on for the wedding?

Dislike/regret: I bought really nice gifts for my BM's and I dislike that I spent that much $$ on a SIL who is anything but deserving (IMO) of any gift after what she's done over the last 11 months. Likes: a smaller (less heavy) dress for the reception; groom's cake.

In hindsight, I wouldn't have spent the money on OOT bags, or groomsmen gifts...no one seemed to care! I still love my wedding jewelry and love that I only spent $20 on them, and they were custom!

Dislike: Pretty much everything. We are both frugal and come from poor families, so spending money is almost always painful, in hind sight we both agree we would have done a lot less for the wedding. we are keeping it under 10K but still, that is A LOT of money for one day. BUT we both know our wedding is going to be wonderful and have come to terms with spending the money and we're ready to enjoy the day!Like: the honeymoon!

Dislike: I love my dress, but now that I know you can buy them used, online, etc for WAY cheaper I would've gone that route.Like: All the little details that were cheap and easy.  Craigslist and VistaPrint were my friends through this process!

Dislike:  Favors (too much time & energy and very few people even noticed them)  Wish I had made cookies instead.  Disposable cameras (total waste of $$ - don't bother) Love:  Dresses - got mine, 3 BMs, and 1 musician's dress very reasonably.  and they can wear them again.  Venue - totally worth it (and affordable).

Like: My 2nd dress: I bought it off of eBay (new) for only $150 and I love it. I am so excited about it. Dancing lessons: We are doing dancing lessons at DanceSport in Littleton. They have a reasonable package. I love to dance, but FI isn't really comfortable out on the floor. It is just so fun to be able to dance with him and have him feel like he knows what he's doing. Worth every penny! Dislike: Even though it will be wonderful and their staff is amazing, Maggiano's was out of our price range but I did it anyway. I feel the the reception is the thing people remember - the food, the atmosphere, the bar! and I wanted it to be a party so I splurged. It has taken a toll on so many other parts of the wedding because I blew such a big part of our funds on that piece. I know in the end I'll love it, but it is just frustrating right now that I can't have other things because of it.

I've not even come close to all that will be spent, but, from what's done so far...Love:  Spending on our photographer.  I love her (Lindsay B!!!).  She was a little higher than we were looking to spend, but FI and I met with her separately and just totally clicked with her personality and loved her style.  And the photos will be the most lasting part of the day!Regret:  So far nothing, but it's almost like buying a house...you agonize over the decision to spend, then you second-guess what you paid, what you picked, everything!  I need to learn to let go....

dislike/regret: Inviting as many guests has we have which has made our venue and catering costs pretty high. like: I love my dress (money well spent) and the photobooth we are having as "favors" for our guests, it should be a blast!

My likes and dislikes are the same. I love our venue but feel we overspent on it. I LOVE my dress but it still seems like too much money for one piece of clothing. I guess I like that we can bring in our own alcohol so we'll have tons of booze, ha!
