DOC?

I may need one- basically for decorating. (sigh) Any very budget-friendly ideas?

if it's just for decorating...and i know this would probably taboo for most people but it works for us...maybe ask a few friends if they would mind helping decorate before your ceremony starts? My mom and sister and I helped a friend last year, so she and her mom are returning the favor.

In the past some knotties have traded DOC services if their weddings were a month or so apart.  I totally recommend hiring/getting a DOC- ours saved my bacon on several issues.

I just hired a girl named Jackie with Blissful Happenings -- I know her through work and she just started a wedding planning business. She is doing my DOC and the price is so reasonable it's ridiculous -- if you're interested in her info email me at brandys dot wedding at gmail dot com.

Thanks, guys. I am going to do some research! For those of you using a DOC, what are your biggest needs?

we are using a DOC (best money I've spent!!!)Before our wedding:  She'll be doing all of vendor confirmations the week before and she's also created a timeline that will be sent to all of our vendors to ensure evyerone is on-time.She'll be doing our entire decor set-up in the reception room, she'll be interfacing with our venue to ensure they set everything up correctly at ceremony site & tables/chairs in the reception room.  She'll also be the one to speak to our venue staff if we need to go with plan B due to inclement weather.  She's also offered to ensure that all cards/gifts and the marriage license is delivered to our room during the reception.

We're using Danielle with Something Classic Events as well. She's been great and it has been and will be well worth the $$ spent. I hired a DOC for basically 1 thing: to decorate the reception area. Our site is not close to where we're getting ready (45 minutes) and I wasn't going to have my mom, BM and myself setting it all up. I didn't want that stress. She's been great as a sounding board as well. I have a problem SIL/BM and I've asked Daniell's advice on how to deal with the problems that have come up and possible problems that may come up with her. Plus it's nice to have someone there that will think of the things I may have forgotten.
