Guests not choosing "blocked" hotels

Fi and I blocked two hotels- they're close to the reception and close to each other. One starts out at $129 a night and the other $79 flat. I think that is pretty reasonable. But, many of our guests are trying to find cheaper accommodation. I understand that- flights, rental cars, meals and accommodation is expensive! So, how would you work the OOT packages? Would you scrap them all together? I have sent out the invites with RSVP cards and did not leave them a line to put where they're staying, so that is not an option. And, frankly, I don't feel that I want to go all over town to every hotel. Should I try to last-minute "block" at a really cheap hotel? I don't think many of the cheap hotels offer blocks, anyway. hmm....

I have many poeple doing this as well.  I might just do ones for the people staying at the hotels I blocked only or maybe none at all....

I wouldn't worry about it anymore, you did the nice thing by offering. Since no one is taking you up, don't waste anymore of your time. If you have a few people that might use one of the hotels you found, you can still create a block for them, just make sure you aren't liable for any rooms that aren't filled.
