How much to tip your venue manager?

Hi ladies,I'm getting married at the Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver in about two weeks. The coordinator (technically her title is sales manager) is AMAZING. Every review I read about her proved to be true - she is arranging the centerpieces on the tables, helping me with linen rentals, and just has generally been great. I'm just not sure how much we should tip. I don't think she fits in the category of "wedding coordinator" because I didn't hire her to do day-of coordination or planning, but she's definitely done some of the things that those people do. Any ideas? I've read 10-15% of the total food and beverage cost for the maitre d', but that would be a pretty big number and I'm just not sure. Thanks!

Because she is paid to be there and to represent teh Hotel in a great light, i'd say tip her a couple hundred. BUT check your contract, you might already be tipping her via service charges and such that is built into the final bill. Even if you re tipping via contract, if she has gone above and beyond, i'd still tip her more.

I am so glad that she is doing such a wonderful job for you, but technically, this is part of her job. She is just great at. :) Tipping the sales manager at a hotel is not necessary. I agree with pp, you are probably already paying about 20% in service charges (this should include all tipping). She may not even be able to accept tips.A small gift and thank you card after your wedding would be a very gracious thing to do. You may also consider writing a letter or email to her boss letting them know that she did an excellent job.

I agree that people on salaries really shouldn't accept tips, therefore if you want to express your gratitude I would do it in the form of a gift card. Whatever you feel is a decent amount for her services above and beyond (I wouldn't go above $100, IMHO).
