16 Days to go....

...and I'm looking for thoughts on what I might be forgetting.  I feel like I've gotten a ton of stuff done in the last few weeks and I'm feeling pretty much at ease right now.  Married ladies, especially - What could I forgetting?  What were you running around doing at the last minute?

Fran, I can't believe you only have 16 days left...I'm so excited for you!!!we did several things in the last 3 weeks....big things were that we:-got our marriage license-confirmed our honeymoon reservations-made sure our DOC had all of our contracts so she could contact/confirm all of our vendors-pedicure & nail appt. the week before the wedding & got my hair dyed the week before the wedding-confirmed all of the airport runs we had to make to pic up family at DIALastly, we had "date night" the weekend before our wedding...no wedding talk, just enjoyed our last "date" & being engaged before the craziness started the week before the wedding! :)Hope your next 2 weeks go smoothly!  I can't wait to hear about your wedding & see pics!!!

About 2 weeks out I started a huge list:  what to bring to the venue, who to call & confirm, charge the camera & iPod, etc.  I had plastic storage bins with centerpieces, napkins, plates, cups, etc staged in the living room and made sure to put all the little miscellaneous things in there (including bottle opener, lighter for the candles, safety pins, sewing kit - stuff like that).  It made me feel more organized, and whenever I thought of a random detail I could put it in the bin right then.  Allow more time than you think you will need to get ready - this is where I really felt rushed.  And I should have been more specific with friends and family about what individual tasks I needed help with.  I had people there to help, but didn't assign duties very well and they were reluctant to just jump in and do something.

Fran -   the other thing that I did ahead of time was make "packing lists" (for wedding stuff) so that when we loaded up the cars the day before I could check everything off & not have to worry that we forgot anything :)

the other thing I did was carry around a little notebook so that I could jot things down when I thought of them & then add them to my lists later.  (kept it by my bed & several times would jot stuff down as I was trying to fall asleep) ;)

Great question Fran! I feel the same way!I'm actually sitting at work right now getting together a folder with all of our contracts, flight info., Vendor names and phone numbers, I put a calendar with times that I'm meeting the site manager for our reception and the time and day of my makeup trial. I also started to make packing lists, I have 2 lists right now: first is what I'm carrying on the plane and second is what I'm packing in my suitcase for our honeymoon. 16 days!!!!

Brit - yeah, I seem to have all kinds of lists!  Good idea on the vendor list...I put that together for my venue but it would be good for me to have a copy handy!Court - thanks!!!  You're not far behind :)

Wow, it's getting close for you Fran! I put everything into boxes and kept them by the door a couple days before we headed up to Vail. That way everything was contained and I could continue to add last minute things to the boxes. I'm not good with packing lists; I inevitably forget something. We had all of DH's family flying in 3 days before and I made sure everything was done by then because it would be (and was) crazy and wouldn't have time to finish up little stuff. Try to give yourself at least a couple days before the wedding to do stuff FOR YOU. Get a mani/pedi, massage, coffee time with friends. Seriously! Having the 3 days before the wedding to not finish up little stuff was key in keeping things relatively stress free.
