Front Range Farm Wedding Sites?

I currently live in Longmont and I am trying to find a farm area on the Front Range to get married at. I went and looked at Lone Hawk Farms...ick...The lady doing the showing was so horrible to us. I made an appointment with her for the very reason that I wanted her full/undivided attention and when I get there she has another couple there, was trying to show both of us the site at the same time, and half way through the showing she had to leave to show a 3rd couple, who just pulled up, the indoor area. I was so mad. Really? You couldn't give me 15 minutes alone with you? Not to mention that Gazebo Ceremony area is small and the Gazebo itself is very run down. Also, you have to end your reception by 9 PM and there is an Alcohol restriction of only Beer & Wine.
So now we're looking at other places. I've heard of a place off of Hygiene Road called the Shupe Homestead, but I can't find a website or any information about the place....ugh.
Any other suggestions anyone might have for a site in the general area of Longmont, Boulder, Gunbarrel, Loveland, Berthoud, and Lyons would be much appreciated.

Thanks!,

The only thing I can say is AVOID Pastures of Plenty (not far from Lone Hawk Farm).  My fiance and I wanted to get married there and the owner was extremely arrogant, slow to get back to us with questions, refused to send a contract, etc...He acted offended that we didn't love his property enough and told me that it we were demanding for simply asking logistical questions.  I am so glad that we found another place (not a farm) where the service has been professional and everything I asked for.  Don't waste your time at Pastures of Plenty! They are the least professional vendor I have ever worked with.

Well, this may not be what you are looking for but there is a barn outfitted for weddings. Meadows at Marshdale in Evergreen. =)

Whatever you do, do not use the Bertolin Barn.  I got married there, but endd up being a logitical nightmare and we lost our deposit and ended up in court.  Good luck!

Try Ellis ranch in Loveland. They will do a great job for you. Shupe homestead closed down several  years ago because they were not approved by Boulder County. Good luck.

Thank you for all the input!!!

PS-Shupe Homestead just won their battle with Boulder County in the Pellet Court and might be reopening soon. I just viewed it on Saturday and I have to say that I LOVE the place, the owner, and the price.

We did a photo shoot at Crooked Willow Farms just south of Castle Rock & I LOVED the facility.  They're brand new & seemed to have fantastic customer service as well as a beautiful site.  Worth  looking into.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say that we have had a very different experience with Pastures of Plenty than the bride above. Granted, the owner is a little bit slower to respond than an event center that is only doing weddings, but we try to keep in mind that he is primarily running a farm, which includes going to farmers makets, organizing a CSA, and generally being away from a desk. Pastures of Plenty is the owner's home, and his own business. He was also upfront with us that weddings are a source of supplemental income for him, and not his main business. We would recommend keeping those three things in mind when interacting with Pastures as compared to when interacting with an event center that is solely focused on weddings and event planning, because it is absolutely gorgeous, well maintained, intimate, secluded, outdoors, and you get to use the organic vegetables and flowers grown right there on the farm! We're pretty sure we'll be having our wedding there and we are just so excited!

For what it's worth, we also had a more pleasant experience with the owner of Lonehawk Farm than the other post above. Perhaps it just goes to show that these message boards can only get you so far in your research process, but seeing the place and seeing how your and your fiance's personalities work with the owner's personality are the best pieces of information!

I too am looking at similar places for my wedding next year and Pastures of Plenty is the front runner solely based on appearances and what they do.  I am waiting to hear back from the owner, but that's ok, he is running a farm after all.  So I was wondering if you might share what pricing info you were given for the farm.  I'm just trying to get a ball park right now and any information would be wonderful.

I am very curious to check out Shupe Homestead as well...

I am photographing a wedding at Pastures of Plenty next year and after reading some of these posts I spoke with the Bride to see how she felt about using them. She said they are a little slow with respoding to enquiries but when you actually meet with them they are really nice people. I think the venue is so gorgeous that it's worth some waiting if thats what it takes to get some info and meet with them.
    Good luck with the planning!
