How did you pick your wedding colors?

I am starting to think about this stuff! I can't seem to decide what colors I would like to use. How did you pick your colors? Did DH/FI have any input?

i just happened across a picture of a scheme i liked.  fi had some input, but he didn't really care that much as long as i was happy and it wasn't pink and purple.  i'd suggest looking at pictures of weddings you like.  or, if you have a specific theme in mind, go with that and choose your colors based on that.

we both love the fall and being outdoors when the trees are changing, so that pretty much drove our colors, menu, everything...

i agree with pp - go through photos together and see if anything really catches your eye.  or think back to dates and things you've done together that feel very "you" - like maybe a trip somewhere (urbain flair, quant countryside) and see if you get inspired by that and then the colors just come along.

I like red, I like gold, I like ivory-done!  We got married in Sept up in Evergreen and those colors seemed fallish to us, so it was an easy choice.  And I like bolder colors so I knew I wanted something pretty bright to break up all the white of a wedding.

searching online the other thing i did was i was painting a room and took the paint samples and mixed and matched (that helped!)

I haven't settled on it yet, but here are the 3 ways I'm going to pick. My bridesmaids dresses are summery black cocktail dresses from ann taylor loft, which I figure we can add our color to via flowers/necklaces or something.
 My fiance looooves red so he wanted his outfit to be red, so I may just go with that. But I looked at ties and was sort of inspired by the pretty mossy green ties but now I also am now thinking that I really want fun colored shoes so I might look for shoes I like and then go with that color (most likely either red, mossy green, or turqoise).
