Married!! Vendor Reviews

Hi Ladies! I got so many great ideas from TK so I thought you might appreciate some of my feedback, too. All in all, we were very lucky and had great vendors; the day went so smoothly and we couldn't have asked for a better day!

VENUE: 9 out of 10. We got married at Stonebrook Manor in Thornton. They were amazing and completely exceeded our expectations. Kevin was our event captain and catered to our every need - fantastic! Water outside when we were doing pictures, he saved some of the hors de'ouvres for us, kept our drinks full....The food was great, the cake was beautiful, the setting was amazing....just great. The only reason I didn't give them a 10 is because I got frustrated when I felt like I was getting nickel & dimed (glassware, certain linen colors), but I knew that when we signed the contract so there were no surprises, but still annoying.
DJ: 10. Our DJ was Jaz with Complete Music. They were included in our package with Stonebrook and I couldn't have been happier. They were easy to work with and Jaz did a great job at our reception.
Harpist: 10. Monica Smith was our harpist and did a great job. She was in our budget, was willing to learn new music for us, was always easy to get a hold of....just an all around great vendor.
FLORIST: 10. Dawn (Hillside Consultants) was great. She worked within our tiny budget, had great ideas and suggestions when we needed them, and did a fantastic job. She delivered to Thornton for a reasonable fee and was always very easy to get a hold of.
Officiant: 9. Reverend Michael Woods was a really fun person to work with and made everything really easy for us. He obviously knows what he was doing and the ceremony went perfectly. No 10 for him because sometimes he was hard to get a hold of. Apparently his email was down for some time which wasn't his fault, but still frustrating. Again, we booked him through Stonebrook.
Photography: TBD. Oertli Photography - Anna was our photographer for engagement pics and wedding pics. She was flexible with our package that we wanted, super friendly, and has a great creative eye. I expect great things from our pictures, but I won't rate jut yet.
Hair & Make-up: 8. Beauty on Location by Liz - Liz recently had a baby so she sent 2 of her assistants instead. It was really convenient for them to come to my house, and again, she was willing to work with our budget. Our hair lady was 1.5 hours late due to a mis-communication on their part, so no 10 for her. It worked out fine and we still had plenty of time, but definitely added stress that I didn't need. The MUA dropped a mascara wand on my carpet and tried to pretend like it didn't happen (but she was doing my MU and I saw her drop it, so whatever). It came out with carpet cleaner, so otherwise I would have made a bigger fuss. But again, no 10 for her. But Liz is really sweet and was very responsive to emails.
Tuxes: 9. Men's Wearhouse - We chose them because they had lots of color choices for the vests and are everywhere, so our OOT groomsmen could get measured. Some of the tuxes didn't fit when the guys went to pick them up the first time, so they had to go back. But everything was done in plenty of time and the tuxes looked great.
Dresses: 9. David's Bridal - Park Meadows. I got my dress on sale - less than $100! I was uber excited, and it fit almost perfectly so alterations were minimal. Sometimes the people were not exactly friendly or helpful like I would have liked, but I did my research and new exactly what I wanted. We also bought FG and BM dresses here and you just can't beat the price.
