what is your definition of "affordable"?  Mine was less than $1000 for dress & alterations.  Bridal Collection didn't factor into my possible dressed b/c they carried more expensive dresses.  I looked at Chiyos, Amandas & Davids Bridal.  Found my dress at Chiyos in Aurora (off of Illiff)
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

like chell said, depends on your idea of affordable.

i'd strongly suggest if you are on a budget to check out pre-owned dresses from sites like oncewed, or once you find your dress you love, to shop around.  my dress retailed for $3000+ and i actually found it at a huge discount ($300) on ebay, brand new (the lady who owned it bought it wayyyy too small as a weight loss motivator, and then it didn't happen. she also spelled the name of the designer wrong so it didn't come up in ebay searches).  the point is, you can get a dress you love at a better price than what the salons will tell you.

I just bought my dress at D'Anelli's bridal toay!  And I shopped around.  I went to The Bridal Collection, Little White Dress, Anna Be, and D'Anelli's.  I felt they had a great selection of gowns in my price range.  They had a great variety of designers and their staff was really friendly and helpful!  I highly recommend them.

    Cheers and happy dress shopping!

Im thinking in the $1000 range, not over 1500

Blue Bridal on the 16th street mall is mostly in that range. I found a fantastic all-lace one there for just under $1,000.

I got mine at Amanda's for $900.  Have yet to get alterations though, so I don't know how much the total is.  Good luck hunting, it's the best!

I just started the dress hunt! I went to Amanda's, although I looked more at the dresses and not the prices, I found that most of the dresses I looked at were under $1,500. I must say, they were SOOOOOO helpful and polite! The consultant help MOH and I narrow down things, and realize what type of dress I actually want! Just from my first experience with them I HIGHLY suggest them!

I spent $350 on my dress, that includes the dress, alterations, strapless bra, slip, and shoes (and it is everything I had hoped and dreamed for).  I went to David's Bridal in Westminster and was lucky enough to be treated wonderfully and had a GREAT experience.  Other people have not had as good of an experience and I myself had a bad run in with them about 3 yrs ago, but it could be that I got a consultant that just totally rocked this time (Amanda was her name).

Blue Bridal is fabulous!  I got mine there for $1200 and they had a fairly large selection in the price range.

Amanda's is really great!! There is only one or two dresses that are over $1000.  If you go get Jan to help you, she is really nice.

I'm another D'Anellis fan. I got my dress there several months ago, and it was originally $4000, but after some negotiating they sold me the (perfect) floor sample for $1200, so it came to about $1550 with alterations. David's Bridal is cheap, for sure, but I personally disliked everything I tried on there. The dresses looked fine from far away, but up close I could see and feel how cheap the fabric was. Couldn't compare to the 100% silk dress I scored for a huge discount from D'Anellis! Plus, my experience with David's Bridal's service doesn't even come close to the level of service I got at D'Anelli's. At David's, my consultant  disappeared, and my mom had to zip/clip me into every single dress I tried on! Really frustrating. I also shopped at Amanda's Bridal, but again, the service wasn't very attentive: my mom and I had to wander around the store alone, shuffling through dresses and having no idea what we were looking for. Best advice I can give no matter where you shop: don't be afraid to haggle over price! There are all kinds of discounts bridal shops can give, you just have to be insistent and ask for them. I see it as kind of like shopping for a car: no way you'd just pay sticker price, right? Best of luck to you!
