Our wedding was August 6th and I want to pass along the good, bad and ugly.
1) Style Bride and Vivian Hall in Pueblo, CO- I found my dress here on a fluke and it was perfect on my wedding day. Made it worth the trips to Pueblo for dress fittings and alterations with Vivian. They worked with me and Vivian works miracles for alterations at a price that can't be beat in Denver. SB=A, VIvian=A++++++++
2) Foothills Chapel-we had our ceremony here and for the most part it was perfect. Except two things which really put a hamper on it. First, their coordinator/owner was insisted that my SIL with a sprained achilled tendon go downstairs before the ceremony (she should have stayed upstairs on a bum foot) that she ended up falling down and really messing up her foot and is in a boot for another 2 weeks after hobbling down the aisle. Also, we were told that we had a set time line and had to be out by 4...so we rushed though photos to make that time frame. Then as we left he told us that oh, you could have taken your time as the next wedding isn't till 6! ARGH!!! By that time I had a bridesmaid who needed an er, parents enroute to the reception and everyone else in the limo. C
3) CG Blume- Cris did our flowers, linens and was our DOC. She was great, I got tons of compliments on everything she had her hand in...she thoguht of things before the wedding I never woudl have considered. I truly don't know how brides do it without a DOC!!! A++++
4) Child's Bakery-I had a design in mind and am not an artist so brought them the different pieces and they managed to put together my vision. It was perfect...only I have no idea how it tasted as I didnt' get to eat any (see below for details on that!). (They also mentioned issues with dealing with the Sheraton Denver West) So, for everything but taste, A
5) Sheraton Denver West-By far the worst expereince of my life has been dealing with them. First, coordinator changed in the middle of signing the contract, the new girl seemingly has no clue what she is doing. Krystal took forever getting us a BEO and in fact we never got a correct one. Emails went unresponded to, contracts not changed to reflect what she said in emails, you name it. Then the day of (still without a signed BEO) things seemed to go ok. Until the food service started...with the guests being served first. Half the room was served before we brought Cris' attention to it (she thought the head table already ate their salads) and was able to fix it. By the time the head table ate our salads, all guests were done (they were to be served salads as we got our entrees so we could eat and visit with guests as soon as they were done eating). Then, when they were to serve the cake they were to ask which flavor-instead they just handed out cake, which was not what they were supposed to do. Little detail but still had unhappy guests. Of course the bride and groom were busy so we asked for cake to be put aside so we could eat some later...supposedly they did so but by the end of the reception no one could find it so we never got to taste our wedding cake
After speaking with guests after the wedding, I had numerous complaints that the servers were rude, cleared plates before people were done, cleared paid for drinks before the were empty and seemed to just want it over (and made the guests feel that way too). I'm so frustrated and aside from never doing business with them again want to complain to corporate but can't find their info...any ideas??? The only thing that was nice was Kristine who dealt with room blocks and the front desk staff. D (only reason not an F is Kristine and front dest staff)
The photos's, dj and limo were provided by friends and I'd feel bad posting about them...PM me if you really want to know.
