pavillions??

Anyone know of any pavillions we could use for a reception and or ceremony site? The problem we are running into is that many places do not allow alcohol. Want something fun for  a reception but not too "backyard."  Would prefer tables and chairs over picnic tables -- but as long as we could switch out the picnic tables, we would be okay.

Any suggestions? Looking for anything that is within an hour of King of Prussia or Collegeville. Thanks.

Have you checked out the Audobon Center? It's so pretty. It's a bird sancuary - outdoorsy. There's a large pavillion that you could bring tables/chairs into.

You could also contact towns around your area that have town parks/greens with pavilions. Some of these can be rented out.

We did check that place out. It's gorgeous, but we have to use their caterers and with their catering and the site fee, it is at least 20K.  WE need something under 10K for about 120 people. I know we are going cheap, but we can do some catering ourselves, my FI use to be chef and its so hard to see all these prices so high when we know it really doesn't cost that much.

Ohh. I didn't realize you had to use their caterer. What a bummer. My FI and I originally wanted an outdoor pavillion wedding too. Let me search my old e-mails for links to other places that might be similar, but will allow you guys to cover food.

    Thanks that would be great!

We have looked into some parks and such in the area, but the ones i have found don't let you have any alcohol.  So, that's the other problem we are running into.

I believe alcohol is prohibited at all PA state parks.

I think some DE parks allow alcohol, if you're willing to try those.

There are a lot of pavillions at Mermaid Lake in Blue Bell. I'm not sure if you can bring in your own caterer or not, but it would be worth asking.  I know you do bring in your own liquor either way.

I am looking into Mermaid Lake. They have caterers there too - Blue Bell Catering. I sent an email, but I am still waiting to hear back. If I don't hear something soon, I will probably call. I need to go and check this place out but it has some potential.

Well, my FI doesn't think Mermaid Lake will work --- he went out to walk around and see it.  We are both worried that it will be too informal.  I don't mind semi casual but it has to feel like more than just a BBQ.  So, Still looking for some cheaper reception/ceremony sites. Would like something $70 or less. Anyone have any other suggestions?
