**vent*** Unhappy about my hair trial...PIP

I had my hair trial with Jill from Up Your Do. I know everyone has raved about her, but i feel like my hair didn't look good. I am going for a half up curled, loose/soft look. If anyone has any pictures or advice on what i should do that would be great.  I am still using her for my wedding, and she will be doing all of my bridesmaids too. TIA!

Did you tell her you were not happy?  You NEED to speak up.  I have made that mistake in the past and said yeah, yeah, yeah it's fine when I I didn't like it, but there is no way for her to know if you don't tell her.

The front looks good IMO.  It looks like she just pinned pieces back though... straight back, not together at one point.  Are you planning to wear a veil or barrette?

It also looks like you only have highlights on the crown of your head, so your hair is two different colors, which will definitely effect the way it looks (I had the same issue with my trial).  Have you considered dying it all one color?  Maybe highlighting all over?

I have some pics for you to show Jill if you want. I am doing similar half up half down style. You do need to tell Jill you didn't like it. She would have made sure you are happy. :)

Hope these help. I am sure if you explain to Jill how you feel, she will make sure you love your hair. She really loves what she does, and it shows.

Personally, I think you should style it just like the model wearing the dress.  Crazy Princess Leah anyone?

Anyway, I really like the front and the sides... but I agree, I think she needs to bring it back to a point in the back.  Def. say something to her about it.  Trust me... she isn't going to be mad.

Hey there.  Jill did my hair as well - after my trial there were a few things I was iffy on, so I called her and explained the things I was unsure of.  We discussed ways to fix those things.  We also talked about color - I had some old fading color and she thought it would look better to color my hair before the wedding.  I went back in for an appt for her to color it, and while there we looked at the photos from the trial and discussed the changes we wanted made.  She made sure to do those things on the wedding day and everything turned out great.  She does listen very well so just make sure you communicate your feelings to her!  Don't be afraid, you need to be happy!

thanks Ladies...i am definitely getting a full highlight. my hair was black, so i had to start lightening it first by starting on top...so i know that is a little weird in the pics. Its just hard since im in cali, so i cant just keep stopping by and trying different styles. But its good advice to give her a call and talk it out. I was just so exhausted at my trial (i had just arrived at 6am that morning and was soooo exhausted. i couldnt do any fighting, lol).

    thanks for the advice!!

I have a second trial scheduled with her in a couple weeks.  Not because I didn't like my hair but because I went in with one look I liked and she did almost exactly that.  I just want to try a different look to see what's better, and see what the expert recommends.  I hardley even dry my hair let alone style it so what do I know.  She would have no problem with a second trial.  She's getting paid for it so why should she?
I'm using the make up people out of that salon too - Dylan Michael. Cosmetics.  I had my trial with Casey, loved it there kind of hated it when i got home so I let them know that it wasn't the look I was going for and we did a second trial aldo for no charge.  We're going to go woth the second more natural look rather than the first evening look.
