what is the average cost of a photgrapher in philadelphia and what does the package include? does anyone have any recommendations?

Most of the photographers recommended around here run between $2,000-$4,000. Common packages have engagement shoots, rights to the images on cd, 8-10 hours, second shooter. Albums depend. Every photographer is different though.
 
We met with 5 photographers all around $3,500 for 8-10 hours, rights to images, a second shooter and engagement pics. Only 2 could offer an album for that price range.

Yasha, is amazing! She and her husband own Delicate Portraits, and work together on your wedding day to get all the shots. She has three packages starting at about $1750. Engagement photos are included in two of the packages.

A friend of mine used her last October for her wedding, and my fiance and I loved her work so much we actually talked to her following the wedding about packages and a plan to start payments before we were even engaged!

Photography by Leah is amazing!!  Her and her husband did a fabulous job on our wedding! Dibsontop also had Leah as her photographer!  We weren't suppose to get our photos back till mid-September and Leah already has them done. 

Her and her husband, Austin, were fun, easy-going and we were very comfortable taking pics with them.  We got married on one of the hottest days of the year (over 100 degree weather).  H and I didn't think to bring towels to dry our faces off, but Leah did.  She is just amazing!!!  She can accomodate a package to your price range.  They usually start at around $1,500 and up.

I read your message in the RSS feed.  We booked Matt Wright at Fig Tree Photography.  At the time we booked him last year, his largest package was around $3500 and that did include an album, e-shoot, 9 hours, copyright and lots of other stuff.  He's super chill and laid back to work with -- sometimes he is a bit slow with communication.  His work is amazing and we're really happy with him so far, plus FI clicked really well with him.  You can check out our e-pics he did last month by clicking the link down in my siggy.
