When did you book....?

When did you book:

-florist
-hotel block
-transportation
-ceremony music
-rehearsal dinner?

I'm 10 months out and have the big stuff out of the way but still have a few lingering. I contacted Cescaphe trolleys yesterday just to get a price quote and they are booked already for next May. Surprised me. How far out did you book these things? I just want to be sure I'm not scrambling bc I waited too long.

-florist - about 9 months out
-hotel block - my venue was a hotel, so i booked this when i booked the venue
-transportation - n/a. when we thought we would need it, philadelphia trolley company was the best price i found
-ceremony music - 6 months
-rehearsal dinner - 6 months, but didn't confirm or deposit anything until about 3 months out.

I would start looking into florists. You want to make sure you find someone you like, who understands your vision, and who will work with your budget. It can take some time.

Florist - about six or eight months out, I can't remember exactly. But ditto Bean on working on this one first. 

Hotel block - n/a

Transportation - n/a

Ceremony music - we're having a friend do it, so about four months out

Rehearsal dinner - a month or so things were finalized, but we're having it at my parents' place; we'd decided on that about three months in advance

-hotel block...10 months out which was awesome bc i got an amazing rate
-transportation...2 months out (dropped the ball on this one) i originally wanted cescaphe trolley too. contacted them like 8 months out and they were booked.
-ceremony music...10 months out
-rehearsal dinner...2 months out - they wouldn't let us do it any sooner

-hotel block over a year and we had trouble find one due to the holiday weekend

 -transportation 3 weeks and we got a huge discount.  This was not important to us AT ALL.

-ceremony music We had to book through the church and we had to do it at 6 months

-rehearsal dinner? It was at my aunts house

-transportation - I did this about 11 months out b/c I met them at a wedding show and got an awesome rate so I wanted to lock in.
-ceremony music - about 10 months out
-rehearsal dinner - 4 months out- just put a $100 deposit down. we didn't finalize time or menu yet.

Related question--when did everyone start working with stationery/invitation vendors?  I'm about a year out and I'm already talking to one, discussing the save-the-date, but I'm wondering if it's a bit too early?
