Re: Reception at Water Works?? Help!

  • in case your wondering- if your plan is to get married in the gazebo there water works does not own it! it is owned by fairmount park so alls you need is  a permit from fairmount park...waterworks will try to tell you that you need to have your reception there to use the gazebo but you dont ! the food there is good but i dont know about their pricing seems kinda high to me... but that is the pricing for alot of places in that area!
  • Also, your outdoor photos will need permits...believe it or not!! Otherwise you will have security people telling you you can't get your pic taken around the waterworks. I learned that in someone else's wedding!

  • Thank you for the info regarding the permits to have pics taken at the gazebo. We are planning to take pics there. My fiance works for them so I am hoping we can get a permit with out paying for it and that will be one less expense. BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL!!!!!

  • Be sure to ck out the water quality, the last time I was down there the water was all stagnant yellow slime in a lot of places--wasn't right near the waterworks tho, more boathouse row, but if it gets like that during the time of year you're getting married you might want to rethink photos.
