philadelphia venues

Hi Brides!!

My fiance and I just got back from Philadelphia yesterday...spent the entire day looking for venues for fall 2012, however didn't have that much luck. Our first choice is The Rittenhouse, but haven't gotten an idea on a price per plate...any insight? Also we are looking to have about 220, looked at Ballroom at the Ben, Crystal Tea Room, Arts Ballroom, Downtown Club, Union League and Raquet Club of Philadelphia...any that we are missing or should definitely include?

Any help or advice would be amazing!!!

Thank you

I highly recommend the Down Town Club. I am having my wedding there in 3 months! They are great to work with and very accommodating. And the food is restaurant quality. Not your typical wedding food.

Also, have you looked into the Cescaphe properties? Please Touch Museum? The Franklin Institute?

we had ours at the racquet club in October...I would highly recommend it.  Venue itself is a little different than most.  Jeffrey Miller was great to work with, we got tons of compliments all around.  Another you might consider is TRUST  I'm pretty sure that holds around 220.

We looked at The Franklin Institute...a bit pricey for us but they have amazing amenities.  Check at the National Constitution Center...we checked them out too!

I went to a wedding at the Constitution Center about 5 years ago and it was pretty cool, great view of Independence Hall.  Plus your guests get into the Center which is cool if you have a gap, this wedding had a "Catholic" gap so we walked around it's the only time I've been there.

    What is your budget?

I think the Rittenhouse offers discounts on Fridays/Sundays, but their Saturday price per place is over $200 exclusive of tax and gratuities.

Another place that could definitely accommodate a group of your size (and is within the general price vicinity of the other places you've mentioned) is the Loews.  The spaces are gorgeous, and they've been great to work with so far.

Thank you everyone...so many great recommendations. We just made some more appointments for this weekend, hyatt and westin are on the list.

Ideally we would like to be below 185 per plate...We might consider the Horitcultural Center, our only draw back is it's not in center city.

During our search, we looked at Top of the Tower and totally loved it! The view is amazing!! Pricing starts at 130 pp. It was over our budget, so we didnt end up with it, but we really liked it, when we had the tour. Maybe you'll like it too.
