Groomsmen Rant!

So my FI sent an email out in February to all of the guys to get fitted for their suits. Now here we are 2 days before the deadline that they have to get fitted by and 3 of the 5 guys have not gone yet!!!! Seriously? I'm so annoyed and so is FI. He sent them a courtesy text or email a month ago and then again last week. Funny how they all rsvp for the bachelor party no problem for this weekend, but can't go in a store to get fitted which will take 5 minutes! If the guys don't get fitted, I assume they are taking themselves out of the wedding right? I can't belive we have to be these guy's mother's and hold their hands like this. If they don't go by tomorrow I am thinking about personally driving to their houses and kidnapping them up and taking them to the store, lol.

I totally feel your frustration! Out of our 5 GM, only 2 have gone to get fitted so far and we told them to do it by June 9th. The store needs it done by this Saturday the latest and I knew none of the guys would be responsible enough to get fitted on time. Granted, two of the remaining three are located in South Carolina. But all they have to do is call in their measurements. Shouldn't be that hard, right? So I totally understand where you're coming from and its so annoying.

Here is my thing - - If you cant live up to the role of a bridesmaid or groomsmen, or its too much work for you - - just say no thank you, gracefully...I had people like this, too.

I would tell them to go get fitted or they aren't going to the bachelor party this weekend!!! That's so frustrating!! I texted my groomsmen EVERY DAY until they got sick of hearing from me. I was totally a bridezilla about getting it done. So frustrating!!

I totally understand your frustration but I'm just going to play devil's advocate here. Men LOVE to wait until the last minute. I'm guessing they will all be going in the last day of the deadline. My FI constantly does this to me. Doesn't tell me the deadline for when he has to get his tux and then all of a sudden it's a rush to get there and do it on the last day. 

I really hope the rest of them do it soon so it can ease your mind a bit

Same thing with my FI's groomsmen.  Only 1 has gotten fitted so far, and it's only because he went with FI to pick them out.

I almost have the opposite situation.  FI's 2 older brothers are our groomsmen, and they were WAITING on FI to tell them what suit they needed to get.  Once he sent them a link to the one he bought, the next day, they both had them.  FI was the hold up.

Sorry that the guys are being frustrating!

same thing happened with our BM...he is seriously irritating me...I guess he is going by Saturday....w/e...ugh

Meagan, FI told me yesterday that if it was up to him things like RSVPs wouldn't be done until the last minute and geting fitted would be the same thing. 

Just to illustrate: He waited last week to get refitted for his BM wedding that is happening on the 30th....And he wasn't going to get refitted for our wedding at all even though he's lost close to 20lbs...

lvissers: I had to make FI's dad go get fitted...We were out to dinner and I had to harass him into doing it even though MW is right next to the restaurant.  We also conned my dad into going and getting fitted by telling him that he had to take my little bro's tux back after his prom since no one else could do it...And while he was at it he could get fitted...Total lie but it worked!  Stay on them!  Be a bridezilla!  You're entitled to for stuff like this!

It's totally a boy thing. All of my guy GM, dads, and FI waited until the last minute. Three of them went on the last possible day. Drove me crazy but it got done.

This but also women have this problem too! I think people just don't really care that much or think it's that big of a deal. Our ring bearer hasn't got fitted yet, he's the last one we're waiting on and it's his MOTHER who's supposed to be taking him!

I feel the frustration of them not getting fitting. I'll have to agree that if they don't get their measurements in then they are removing themselves from the wedding party.

I definitely feel your frustration.  I have a couple guy guests that are coming that didn't book hotel rooms until like 2 days ago.  The hotel sold out over a week ago and I sent them like 2 messages about the hotel situation and they were like now what? I was like here's this hotel across the street, book now or that's it.  Also one of FI's GM has yet to get a tuxedo and my RB/FG and his family have fallen off the earth.

We have one who hasn't told us he has gotten his suit, and I'm scared that this means he hasn't. It definitely stinks, but like Meagan pointed out, it's very likely they are just waiting to the absolute last minute. I do that with things when I can, as well.
