***HappyWithHim***

Hello,
I was told you were in a Phillies themed wedding... my wedding will also be a Phiilies themed wedding (I posted last night about it) and would be very interested to hear what your friend did for their wedding. I have some of my ideas listed in my post.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey! Yes my best friend had a Phillies theme wedding and it was fabulous without being cheesy!

We wore Red dresses, she bought us each a baseball stitching bracelet to go with our dress, it was a cute little detail. She bought each BM a pair of Phillies slippers to change into (awesome idea, super comfy)...As our "bag" for our present for being a BM she got us a Phillies tote bag, which is reuseable for all our Phillies games.

The bride wore a white flower in her hair for the ceremony and pictures but changed to a red one for the reception.

For the wedding reception they went to Citizen Bank Park prior to the wedding and took pictures around the stadium and used them as their table numbers. They also enlarged one and had it as their "guestbook" for their wedding.

Placecards were cracker jack bags with our placecard tied to it.

I designed the program for the wedding and made it look like a Phillies game day program.

Favors were red and blue foam fingers.

We all got together and surprised them with the Phanatic.

The top tier of their wedding cake was a mini CBP.

/butting in.  HWH--holy crap that's amazing.  I knew that it was Phillies themed, but I didn't know how much was involved.  That's AWESOME.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

She also did a "phillies ticket" for STD magnets which I designed and we had printed on Vistaprint. As for your ideas:

~jersey as a guest book (only thing is thats a REALLY expensive guestbook... as to get your name on the jersey is about $80!)
~"will call" table with game tickets as place cards (I like this idea.. very cute :) )
~popcorn buffet (good idea but can be messy as popcorn is easily spilled.. I would check with your venue first)
~candy buffet (baseball related candy) (I wouldnt do a popcorn and candy.. I would do one or the other.. Also be careful with "themed" candies as its becomes PRICER and you might limit the types of candy that people like...)
~shelled peanuts at the tables (fortunately no allergies) (MESSY)
~pennants in our centerpieces (with our engagement photos being taken at CBP) (VERY CUTE!!)
~rally towels for our entrance (Love this idea... and will make for cute pictures)
    ~tables using players names (CUTE)
~Harry Kalas voice clips throughout the night (Shame you cant get him to announce you coming in, my other friend had this done as a gift to her FI.... AWESOME REACTION FROM THE HUBBY!)
~Phillies garter (ADORABLE AND EASY TO FIND!!)
~wedding colors (light blue, maroon) (The color scheme fits.. it might be difficult to find a venue that has these linens if you want them to match. I know our venue had red but no maroon or light blue.. but it works :))

The Phanatic was $500 for one hour.. which is not too bad... and just added to the night :)

Even if your venue doesn't have your colors for your table, I think it's fine to have neutral color linens.  We just used ivory linens at our wedding (our colors were green, yellow, burgandy and orange).  I thought having colors at the tables was too much for me anyway.  I liked neutral better.  By the time the table numbers and flowers were up, the table was covered anyway.  I think too much color on the table can take away from the centerpieces.  Just my opinion.

I was so excited when our venue pulled out the swatches of their table linens and saw they had both colors we are going for! We are doing maroon tablecloths with a cream square overtop and the napkins will be the light blue. They put it together for us and I loved it since our centerpieces will be the light blue (hydrangeas). It all looked very nice together even without the hydrangeas.

I'm really considering the Phanatic but since our wedding is June 30, we may not be able to get him. Of course, we won't know for some time due to not knowing next years schedule.

Thank you for your input on my ideas. I know I have a lot to consider with the ideas. I forgot to mention the reason for the popcorn buffet~ my FH LOVES popcorn!!! He would eat it for every meal if he could. And I love candy so we decided to bring those two things together rather than have favors.

The jersey is one of our gifts to each other. We have a Phillies themed basement (go figure), and it would be something we would frame and hang up in the Phan Cave (his name for it)!

What about a candy buffet, and as  guests leave, popcorn boxes with already boxed up popcorn? Guests can still take it, and you don't have popcorn everywhere through out the receiption.

I love most of your ideas, and it sounds like a really fun wedding. You should have a ball!

Also, they have a few different phanatic costumes, I know a red one, and I'm pretty sure another one as well... and a few people are the phanatic (I think) so you may still be able to get a phanatic to come to your wedding even if a game is playing, just maybe not the green one.

The Phanatic is under a contract that HE (any one of them) cannot be at two places at once as they want everyone to believe HE IS THE PHANATIC. So just make sure its not a home night game :)
