The best place for a plus size bride to go wedding dress shopping?

Fellow betrothed, I am trying to find the best places to go wedding dress shopping in the Philadelphia area. I am on a budget so budget friendly would help to. I am thinking of a church or garden wedding. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have. Cool

What area are you looking in?  There's a place in Trooper called Belle of the Ball Bridal.  Since the owners are "plus sized" they are very sensitive to birides that need womens' sizes.

Alfred Angelo carries up to size 30 I believe. The Alfred Angelo store in Cherry Hill is the worst though. I think there is another one by Allentown. Or if you go to Cherry Hill just try it on and order it from another salon.

I was reading a wedding magazine over the weekend and saw several advertisements for designers who carry plus size. I will look when I get home from work.

I'm a size 14 and went to Belle of the Ball and there was nothing from this century that was above a size 8 (side note- they had tons of bridesmaids and mob dresses in different sizes).  I didn't like the idea of not trying on my exact size dress because I've got a lot of curves so I got my dress at David's.

I asked this same question a few weeks back, got some good suggestions from the ladies here, and have tried on dresses at four different places that carried at least some plus size samples.

    1. Davids Bridal (multiple locations) -- great place for your first stop if like me you have no clue what kind of dress you want because they have a ton of different styles and sizes to try.
    2. Belle of the Ball (Trooper) -- didn't love the experience here at all.  Didn't find the sales people very helpful and the AC barely worked with 90+ degree weather.  Though they did have a decent amount of plus size samples there weren't any that I were all that fabulous IMO.
    3. Country Bride & Gent (Lansdale) -- beautiful store and a lovely, helpful salesperson.  Nice selection of plus size sample gowns.  They carry Alfred Angelo here BTW.
    4. Ashley's Bridal (Warminster) -- not the fanciest looking story or hugest selection of plus size samples but I really enjoyed my experience here (pretty sure I found THE dress!).  The gowns they did have were beautiful IMO and all the sales people awesome!

    Hope this helps!

Great suggestions ladies.. BTW I am in NE phila. but dont mind traveling if there are options to try on. I am a "plain jane" so maybe some of the not in this century dresses would work for me.. :D will give them a try.
