RSVP vent

So, I knew that a lot of people wouldn't be able to come to our wedding because 1)everyone has to travel for it and 2)it's on a Sunday, but getting "no" RSVPs is bumming me out.  Granted, we've only heard back from like 10 people total, but it's still a bummer.

Ditto!  I just got one from my cousin (in Honduras, I know it's far)  but the reason he's not coming is because his girfriend's mother bought them tickets around the same time to go visit her in Seattle!!  So it's not that he isn't coming because he can't travel but because he's going to seattle with his stupid girlfriend (I sound real mature.)  I told him a year ago!!

We're expecting a lot of no's, too, so I feel your pain. 

I'm still kind of irked that my mom and FMIL had me send out SO MANY "courtesy" invites.  I would have invited more of my own friends.  Oh well, what can you do?

Be happy for the "no" rsvps! trust me! I'm sure you will have a beautiful wedding surrounded by your friends and famly! Somehow all of my friends that live in AZ are making the trek to SD for mine. Hate to say it, but wasnt expecting them to!

I am sorry I don't know how you feel b/c everyone and their mother are saying yes to our wedding!!  I am praying for no's!!

I am just hoping that we get more people to RSVP in general. We invited about 70 people and have gotten probably seven response cards back.  Five of them have been from FI's family and only two from mine.

Uh, yah, us too . . . people coming out of the woodwork and being like OF COURSE we will be there! Not that I don't like them, but really was expecting that random cousin in Florida to be a No . . . We would like about 50 Nos and we're not really that close to that yet . . .

We have gotten some sad no's, mostly from ppl who would have to travel from abroad. One of them (a very close family friend of FI's family) has been looking forward to coming for the past year, but he just got turned down for his travel visa (from Venezuela). FI is so bummed about him, in particular.

When did you send out your invites? When is the deadline?? If I remember your getting married on the 29th?  So you still have a little time yet!

But we got our first 'no' today...but it was one of the ones we knew wasn't coming

I know how you feel, Ally. My FI's family and friends in particular are being super cheap about the whole thing. One of FI's BEST FRIENDS who he was going to ask to be a GM told him that because his wife's family lives in another state, every trip they take has to be to that state...ummm....what? We specifically chose not to have a destination wedding because we wanted to include everyone but apparently they could care less about being included.

I know how you feel too. We are also expecting a lot of "no's". Mainly because FI had me also send out a bunch of "courtesy invites to extended family and out of towners. We were originally planning a 75-100 person wedding. I agree that the no's can be a blessing in disguise. It will cost you less and you will get to spend more time with the ones that do come. I am hoping we only get about 120 "yes".

We got back a handful of no's but I'm hoping to get a lot more.  Thankfully noone close has said no yet, just one of FI's cousins who told us back in December they most likely wouldn't make it.

I know how you feel FI has a big family and he was positive they would all come.  We haven't heard back from a lot of them yet but everyone who has responded has been a no.  I think FIs feeling are a little hurt.  I have never met any of these people but he has always told me what a close family they have. 

When is your date to have your RSVPs back? Maybe they will start pouring in soon.

<div>Ugh...Ditto. FI's grandma who lives in Folsom won't come because she doesn't want to have to take off work.  Really?  We chose a place between our two families so that it would at least be equidistant for both sides.</div>

I hear you.  We invited 145 and we are still waiting for about 45-50 to RSVP.  We had some shocking no's... like my aunt who said no cuz she is moving to colorado the month after.  and the wedding is literally 5 minutes down the street from where she lives which is 2 streets away from me.  o well.  I have got myself to believe that whoever comes really wants to be there with us to celebrate.  Hopefully our last RSVPs come in soon, our deadline is 6/11 our wedding is 7/7.  coming fast

I have the same thing going on!! I'm in need of some no's because I invited 400 and reception hall can only hold 350, and all I'm getting in are yes's. I was told though that the ones who know they are coming send in theirs before tne ones that can't make it!
Btw...where from SD are you from?
