NF Brides - Hotel Drama

Hi Girls - I'm not a big visitor here and have pretty much been putting off everything wedding related unless I have to but having a bit of a crisis and looking for advice.  We tried to increase our room block at Normandy in the winter for our fall wedding and they said once the initial block was full, then we could increase it.  Since we're about 6 months out, we started sending out the hotel info only to learn that the rest of the hotel outside of the block is booked solid so increasing the block will never be an option.  Did anyone else have this problem?  The reason we chose Normandy was so that we wouldn't have to worry about transportation.  Do they have a sister hotel that they provide a shuttle for?  Since this isn't a huge place, I'm thinking I can't be the first person with this problem.  Anyone have any words of wisdom?
Thanks!

Vino--a lot of our former Normandy Brides don't come here as often as they used to, but I will send them all messages so that they can answer your question for you.

i had my wedding and Normandy. I didn't have any issues adding rooms to our block even though it wasn't full so that's odd to me. We added like 10 more rooms to our block before it filled up.  The thing we didn't like was that they release the block 60 days before your wedding, so that was barely any time once people got the invites so we had to send out emails telling people to book their rooms early.
We didn't have any issues with not having enough rooms though....

I would go right to the source and ask them that since you cant increase your block, if by chance they dont have any rooms left, do they recommend another hotel and can they provide a shuttle? (this may make them want to increase your block so they dont lose the business)

ditto this. Only they released them 45 days before the wedding. I don't think many of our 20 or so got used, but I haven't heard any issues. They don't have any sister hotels so I would suggest looking into some hotels around the area. There area few right on Germantown Pike that are off the turnpike in Plymouth Meeting. It's a pretty straight shot driving wise - Germantown to 202 - and only about 10-15 minutes or so.

I got married at NF in March and we most of our block but I don't think we exceeded.  We did get them to hold the rooms until 30 days before the wedding though.

We initially looked at some of the hotels in the area b/c we thought the original price they quoted for rooms was too high.  There is a Summerfield Suites (I think that was the name) on Germantown Pike just south of 202.  If you have enough guests they will provide a complimentary shuttle.  The rooms are huge and pretty nice.
