So about Trulia

Tell me more about it, I looked around a bit.  Is it all reduced houses?

I don't know, but its fun to look through houses.  I am completely ignorant when it comes to homebuying/real estate.  I don't understand anything about loans, mortgages, forclosures, reductions, etc.  I just want someone to look at my pathetic bank account and say "this is what you can afford, don't look higher."

It's not all reduced. Trulia basically takes all the listings from all the different big companies and puts them in one place. I lived on it when I was house hunting.

Got ya.  I just so happened the houses I were looking at were all reduced.  I looked in another area and they were not.

    Good idea for a site.

<div>Interesting.  Not that I'm buying a house at all let alone in the US.  Although in a lot of ways it makes way more sense to buy one there and rent it out until we get back.  </div><div>
</div><div>The website could be a good biz idea for here...</div>

Trulia/Zillow/Realtor.com are all outdated... Sometimes as much as 6 months.   The only real way to check things real-time is through a Realtor sending you listings, or on a realtors website (kw.com) etc.

A website that I found to be more accurate when I was buying a house was everyhome.com. Just fyi :)

Yep, everyhome tends to be one of the more up to date sites.
