NWR: HUGE Favor!

I am asking everyone to go onto Facebook and vote for someone amazing doing something amazing.

PBTeen is holding a contest right now, Called Vote 4 Amazing Teens.  The four semi-finalists each have created a cause, and have worked hard to see that their cause grows into something bigger than they ever imagined.  The Winner gets to attend the VH1's Do Something Awards in LA.

One of the semi-finalists is Mackenzie.  Mackenzie started an organization called Sheltering Books.  Here is the description from the page about Mackenzie's organization, Sheltering Books:

On any given day, there are 1.35 million homeless children in the US. Many of these children have never had access to books to read for fun. Studies show that in middle-income neighborhoods the ratio of books to children is 13 to 1, but in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is 1 book for every 300 children.

Sheltering Books Inc. provides free, like-new children’s books to homeless children across the US. To date Mackenzie has donated over 57,000 books to libraries and reading rooms at shelters in 23 states. Having a selection of books in shelters will introduce these kids to the love of reading, help them develop the reading skills they need to feel confident in their school work, and increase the chances they’ll stay in school and better qualify for scholarships.

The reason that I am asking you to all go and vote for Mackenzie and her organization Sheltering Books is not only because she has started this amazing project, but because she also has Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (also called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome).  Mackenzie lives with the same disease that I have.  The fact that she was not only able to, but was determined to, go out and do something great despite this debilitating disease, well, it's really, really inspiring.  Especially to me, who cannot imagine the amount of guts, strength, will, perseverence, and dedication to this cause it took- there are days I can't get out of bed, and she has collected 50,000+ with this disease.  She has become a role model for me, and hopefully one for y'all too!

You can vote once a day until April 15.  All you have to do is:
-like the link below (which is Pottery Barn Teen),
-click vote now
-click Sheltering Books/Mackenzie (Lower right corner)
-click the vote button
-spread the word; a box will pop up and you can vote once a day until April 15th!

This means so much.  Thank you to all who have already voted (I know there are a couple!).  Please- this means so much.  Thank you for taking the time to do this, for both reasons that matter!
