Honeymoon!!

Just booked the honeymoon!! We're going to the Mayan Riviera, leaving July 30th

So excited!

I delayed booking for a bit after we first looked at honeymoon packages, but now that FI has gotten his permanent position I finally booked. Turns out it was a good thing we waited - prices went down and we saved about $800 total!

Now, the question is: Do we save the $800, or use it for fun excursions/spa packages/shopping since we were already planning on spending it anyways?

Yea! I say spend it! You only get one honeymoon and you should make the most of it!

Woohoo! That sounds so amazing!

I would maybe put aside half or maybe even just $250-$300 for fun stuff on the HM, and save the rest, but it just depends on your financial situation. We found out we could use hotel points for our HM so that saved us about $1000. We decided to do a really nice dinner one of the nights where we go all out, but will put the rest of the "savings" towards wedding costs.

Wahoo! I would probably save half of it and use the other half on the honeymoon.

I was leaning towards half and half as well, I don't think I could bring myself to blow a full $800 that we could be saving! But I do feel like we deserve to treat ourselves to a little something special. Maybe one excursion (zip lining perhaps?) and a couples massage - I'd be more than happy with that!
