[QUOTE]Stacy- I've had pinkeye 10-12 times. Trust me when I say that it is uber contagious. You can actually get a drs note to not go in, especially around children. I was told by my eye dr that untreated, it can cause blindness. (I'll check that on my iPhone... j/k) If I brought DD to daycare/school and the teacher or helper had pink eye? DD would be leaving with me. You have to be on antibiotics for at least 24 hours, and that varies between antibiotics. Some are 48 hrs. Don't chance it. Your boss is a fvcker. No offense...

You made me laugh! haha. I am starting to itch in the other eye now. Probably calling out tomorrow.

Boss is a cool lady just worried about staff. I don't blame her. It's been really bad lately. I should listen to B2B though; I really don't care if I get fired but they have no reason if I have a doctors note. It's just the most annoying thing ever b/c I feel fine other than the itchy eyes and the tears constantly dropping!

They're just itchy? and crying? Not to get all TMI, but are they crusty at all? Because unless they're basically gooped together, you may be able to get around this... Try lying down with a warm (read: hot) wash cloth on your eye until it turns cool. Then put the cool side on your eye. Wash your face, then put a towel down on your pillow and go to bed. If your eye is crusted up tomorrow, you've def. got pink eye. If not, then you may just have a slight infection/irritation.

If you do have pink eye, as soon as you start your antibiotics, change your pillowcase!!!! So many people forget to do this. I did. Then I got it in the other eye a week later. Boo.

Stacey- working in child care is horrible. I worked somewhere where we were not allowed to call out. We had a teacher with pink eye who had to tell the parents it was allergies. Another throwing up in the kids bathroom in the room with a fever over 100 and they would not let her call out or go home early. I do not work there anymore because they made me come in with a stomach bug and I had to make multiple trips to the bathroom the night before, but they made me come in, I was just glad it didn't happen while I was at work since I would have to wait for the director to come all the way to my room so I could go to the bathroom ...

hope you get some drops in there soon.

Thanks Drink, I'm glad someone really understands how it is. It's insane. My school is pretty much the same way. I wonder if it's the same one lol.

I'm not going in though. Not only is my one eye crusty, the other one is now too. So, I've got it in both eyes. I tried the compresses last night. It made it feel better but still red and goupy.

Awww ... I would try the compressions multiple times today and call your dr to get drops as soon as they open.

DH didn't believe with how bad childcare is, until we lived together and he would hear me talk to my boss. I almost had to sleep at the center over night in the bad snow storms last year because we were required to get to work even with the snow, so I told my boss if she gave me a ride I would go in. But she couldn't get off her street because of ice, so I was off the hook, but the center opened every day with snow, it was crazy, not even a two hour delay we opened at 630. wow, I don't miss that.

You both make me want to home school any future crumb snatchers! I would be livid as a parent if I found out the teachers were forced to work sick!

I'm okay, you guys are funny. I get pink eye at least once a year. It's just friggin annoying.

I was lucky b/c i called my work as soon as they opened and there wasn't a director in yet. I spoke to a coworker and she was supposed to tell the director for me. Which, I'm sure she did otherwise I would have gotten a phone call by now.
