Bathroom Baskets

Anyone doing bathroom baskets? I can't decide if I want to or not. I've never been to a wedding that had them, so I don't even know if I would use it as a guest or not. I told FI the concept and he thought it was really strange. What do you think?

    We're doing them.

These ladies helped me figure out what should go in them

Additionally, FI wanted the men to have them too

You know I've been trying to figure out if I should do them as well. I think I was at one wedding that had them, but I don't even remember for sure. I think they're a neat idea, but if they're hardly going to be used, why do it?

I only had a few things touched in mine, not even sure if the men touched theirs either.... but put gum, mints, bobby pins, and hair ties in the womens for sure.

Most of the weddings I've been to have had them; I think it's a nice touch, but not totally necessary. We're doing one only for the ladies room - we're just putting in: gum, tick-tacks, panty liners, hair spray, bobby pins, advil, lint roller, shout wipes, etc. I think it's an easy project that won't give us any stress.

I got all of my stuff at the dollar store... and I put a lotion I already had in mine too.

I like them. I would definitely try to use as much stuff as you already have. You don't need to put full size things in there. Maybe 15 or so bobby pins, a small lotion, some mints, etc. I was at a wedding that had individually wrapped "shout to-go" wipes in there which was terrific (a tide to-go pen would be just as good)

We'll be doing them as well- advil, tylenol, (small bottles) bobbi pins, elastics, hairspray, clear nail polish, (for stocking runs) tums/rolaids, tissues, gum, mints, and I'll probably be a cheeser and throw a condom or two in the men's basket. :)

I did them.  I was at a wedding once where someone cut their foot on the dance floor and luckily there were bandaides in the basket.

i've been to one wedding that had them and thought it was the sweetest thing! whether anyone used it or not i don't know.  but i want to do one now.  our place only has one bathroom for men/women and it's a walk away from the actual reception, so i figure there's a good chance someone might get there and have forgotten to bring their purse or whatever and need something.  i figure you can do it cheap and it's a nice extra touch.

but i dont' think it's absolutely necessary.

I'm doing them - I'm going to make sure not to spend much, but I think it's a nice touch. I've liked seeing them at other weddings I was at. When I mentioned it to my FI, he thought it was a weird idea too, but he's a guy. I always think it's nice to have extra deoderant, bobby pins, hairspray - just in case.

Ok thanks for the input! I think I"ll put it at the bottom of my list for now, so if I don't get to it, it's no big deal. I'm leaning toward only doing Ladies - I can't imagine any man I know even noticing it's there!

I'm definitely doing them.  I'm the person who goes to weddings armed with bobby pins, safety pins, tide to go pen, needle & thread, etc.

but like PP said, I'm not going overboard and spending a ton.  I'll be hitting up the dollar store, the travel aisle at Target, etc.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

    Please ladies:

Remember that tylenol and alcohol are not friends.  If you are serving alcohol, choose a different pain reliever to offer your guests.
