AW: STD- Opinions?

So I just designed our STD's (obviously can't wait for professional pictures, lol).  Our initials are "carved" into the tree.  I'm not sure if I'm feeling the background scroll design behind the text though.  It looked alright without it, but it felt like something was missing.  With or without?  What do you think?

I like it with the scroll, but I haven't seen it without.   I think the yellow font might be a little too light though, it's a little bit hard to see against the yellow-green background. I love the tree and the carved names!

I can't see the carving in the tree with the background color you chose.

It's pretty but slightly distracting IMHO. I'd say without. The initials in the tree are super cute though!

I like the scroll. But in all honesty, I think the problem is the colors and maybe that's why the scroll looks distracting and it's throwing you off. The colors are too close together in range and are all intense (yellow against green-yellow which also makes the tree stand out too much on its own.) I would keep playing around with the colors, tone some down, keep one or two bright and incorporate the tree color somewhere else too so it all flows. For example, either tone down the background or tone down the font color. Both being intense clash and make the scroll more noticeable IMO. Sorry if that was more input than you were asking for lol. I really really really like the design, very cute and creative!

But I also think that the colors makes it hard to read, especially if you're sending them to older guests.

I would suggest trying to make the green a little bit darker and the yellow a little lighter, or make the yellow bold.

Teal, chartreuse, and golden yellow are our colors, so I want to incorporate them as much as I can.  What if I did this:

I still think the yellow is too hard to read I am squinting trying to read it and you can not see the initials carved in the tree at all.

I like the second one, too!  But I do think the yellow is still hard to see.  Maybe it's because the fonts are so thin?? Maybe a bolder font might help it be more readable.  And now seeing it without the scroll, I like without.  It helps to focus more on the information than the design.

I like without the scroll...and I can't read the names in the trees...but love love the colors!!!

I like them all actually...but I agree that it's a bit hard to read.  I think it's the font.  Maybe if it could be bolder it'd be easier to read.

Love it!  I do like it without the scroll.  

The last STD you did with the darker blue is gorgeous, but I can see the initials in the tree.

I really like both of the STD's in both colors, and without the scroll...I like the yellow color for the font, I was thinking that it's probably just hard to see on the computer and probably won't be that hard to read once it's all printed out:)

I ended up changing it just a bit.  Also, the blue you see on your screen isn't the exact blue.  When I look at it online (as opposed to in photoshop), it looks more like the water in Ally's siggy, but it should look more like the water in Meagan's siggy.  The carving on the tree is now yellow, and I cleaned it up a little bit.

Colleen, I got the tree carving idea from VP, lol.  Bobby fell in love with the idea, so we had to do it, lol.
