Was this part of the accident where the bus drove into the building yesterday?

Update:  Now I am not a medical doctor, and I got this information like 5th hand, so don't quote me if it's not correct:

It looks as though his spine is going to be ok-- he will not suffer any paralyzation.  The area it was fractured is in his upper back, and apparently that effects your breathing ability-- hence why they were holding off on putting him under for surgery.

They did reconstructive surgery on his face (mostly his eye socket, I think) and is being transfered to Bryn Mawr for rehabilitation.  He's got a long road ahead of him, but I think he's going to be ok.

Luckily (if you can consider any of this 'lucky') there were plenty of eye witnesses and the driver of the bus owned up to the fact he blew through the stop sign.  The person driving behind his cousin said that the cousin was going 42 in a 45 zone because the driver behind him had to slow down.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  Hopefully I don't have to ask for them again anytime soon ;)

Yes! Glad to hear he'll be ok and I hope for a smooth recovery.

Bus companies/districts are so desperate for bus drivers that they will just hire anyone! It's terrible.

This all sounds promising.  Glad to hear that he'll be on his way to recovery soon.

After his accident my husband did his therapy at Bryn Mawr.  He actually worked out of there a few years ago too.  So if his family runs into any problems or has questions, DH still has some friends and contacts there and I can always see if he can be of any help.

Glad to hear all the positive news. My mom was at Bryn Mawr and I can't speak more highly of the people who work there. Everyone is fantastic. He is in good hands!
