Outdoor Ceremony/Reception Venue Help!

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I are looking for a ceremony & reception venue in the Philadelphia area.

We would like somewhere that we could have the ceremony & cocktail hour outside and the reception inside. Preferrably all in one location, but if they were two different places that were close in distance that would work too.

But we don't want to pay out the ears for it. I am thinking under $80 a person for the reception.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Re: Outdoor Ceremony/Reception Venue Help!

  • Barn at Birchwood has both. It's a new venue from Robert Ryan catering.  Columbia Station has an outside ceremony area but not cocktails.
  • Thank you girls!

<div>Wow! I just looked up this place & it's no longer in buisness. What a bummer. But thank you anyway!!</div>
  • i agree! i was in a wedding this past summer at Tallamore and it was AMAZING! The ceremony took place outside and then they had tables and chairs inside and outside on the patio and the ballroom had a great dance floor. the food was really good too! it was one of the best weddings i have attended! they also are connected with the Joseph Ambler Inn were we rented a giant house and got ready for the wedding and partied at afterwards and the Inn provided shuttle service to and from Tallamore!

They are still in business because I'm getting married there! When Robert Ryan catering bought the venue the changed the name to The Barn on Bridge. Barn at Birchwood was the old name which is why you can't find it. Here you go

  • I am in a similair situation and really liked Colonial Dames in Philadelphia because they do not have an exclusive caterer and some that they work with are very reasonabe (they may actually let you bring in whoever you want, I'm not sure). The only problem, as with many historic venues, is that it was too small for us, the max is 120 guests. http://nscdapa.org/celebrations/
