We're almost there ladies! I kept this all WR today. Sorry that I can never narrow it to just one question on these, but I like reading all the responses!

What are the top few things you are going to register for?

nope...not sure if we're going to have our photog do them (in which case they would be in San Diego), or my sister who is a photog do them (in which case they would be either here in phoenix or wherever we meet up with her in another state)

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI?
His buff arms and back. haha. 

Opinion on cash bars?
I don't mind them...but I'm not a big drinker.  I think if you can't afford to have alcohol at the wedding, then it's nice to give the guest the option of getting their favorite drink.  With that said though, we're not having one, ours is open bar. 

Are you doing a first look?
I don't think so.  I love the idea, but am still on the fence about it.  I mentioned it to FI and he didn't understand why we would see each other BEFORE the ceremony.

What are the top few things you are going to register for? Ooooh! Kitchenaid professional mixer! A Keurig! I think those are my top two!

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that? I wanted our pic's to be taken at at place called Newport Cliff Walk. It is beautiful and the Masions would be in the background, but our photographer said it would be really crowded and there would be no place to park which is completely true since it is a big tourist attraction here in RI. So we decided on a place called Beavertail which is where one of the historical lighthouses are in RI and there are private spots we could take pic's and since the beach is important to us (he proposed on the beach) we are sticking with our beach theme thru and thru.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? Honestly, the first thing that attracted me to him was that he was a cute guy and still is and he has a nice ass. lol. But I also love his personality and how he always makes me laugh. I always love a good laugh.

Opinion on cash bars?
We are doing a cash bar. Open bar is very expensive and we don't have the money to dish out, and personally I don't want people getting really drunk and ruining our special day, i know it sounds a little bridezilla of me so sorry

Are you doing a first look? Nope. I am very traditional in the sense that the first look should be when i walk down the aisle.

What are the top few things you are going to register for?  We have started our registry, but just some things from online!  Our big items we're registering for are: Kitchenaid Mixer!!! ETA: forgot about the dyson!! & an indoor electrical grill thing...Smaller things like bedding, towels, etc.  We're still looking to see what we'll need!

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that?  We haven't completely decided on e-pics yet.  We're getting them done in FL and most likely in St. Augustine!  I love love the look of spanish moss!  So, that is my only request and I hear St. Augustine has a lot of it!

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI?  just one? haha I love his eyes and his smile.  His eyes change with the sky.  It's pretty cool.  One minute they'll be a stealy blue the next they'll be baby blues!

Opinion on cash bars?  I honestly think that cash bars are fine to some extent.  I'm not really sure.  Part of me would be offended that I would have to pay for alcohol, but at the same time, I understand that the bride and groom are on a budget.  As long as I didn't have to pay for soda then I'm cool. 

Are you doing a first look?  No, we are not doing a first look per FI's request.  He is traditional when it comes to this kind of stuff.  However, this is as close to a first look as we'll be getting, per my request (as long as we have time to do this).

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that? We're not doing e-pics. We both hate having our pics taken and its an extra expense that we feel can be cut out.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? I can't pick just one lol. I love tall guys and he is 6'2". He has no body fat so I can see all the muscles in his shoulders, back, and of course the 6-pack.

Opinion on cash bars? I think cash bars are fine. If the couple gets a half barrel or two then its even better. I understand some people can't afford to pay for everyone to drink, but its very nice if they do. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding were it was a completely open bar.

Are you doing a first look? Nope. I don't want him to see me until we're getting married.

What are the top few things you are going to register for? Ooops. Forgot this one. I'm not really sure yet. It depends on if we get a house by then or not. We do need new glasses and some cooking supplies. I had a few specific ideas, but I forgot them now lol. Oh, one of them is a deep fryer.

What are the top few things you are going to register for? A Keurig, a nice blender, a vaccuum, dishes, and bedding. I love to cook so I have a well-stocked kitchen already!

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that? We got ours taken at MSU, which is where we both went to college. We started dating at the beginning of the second semester of my freshman, his sophomore year, and were together all through college. There was no question that we'd have them taken there.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? His baby blues I love his smile too.

Opinion on cash bars? While I would always rather not have to pay for my drinks, I've only ever been to one completely open bar. All the rest have either been all cash, or everything but the keg is cash. I understand that it's an etiquette no-no, but sometimes it just isn't in the budget. And I'd much rather have the option to drink but have to pay, than to not be able to drink at all. We're having a complete open bar, however.

Are you doing a first look? Nope, FI and I are both pretty traditional when it comes to this. I think first look pictures are so cute and intimate looking, but I want the first time he sees me to be when I'm walking down the aisle.

bells, I love old lighthouses! This makes me so excited to see them when you get them back. I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

littlemoments, I have never seen pics like the ones you want to do, but I instantly love them. So you do these before the ceremony? Like when you so want to see each other but can't? It's like a tease if that's how it works, and that'd be so fun to do!

I really wanted to do the place where we first met which was at my job but I was recently (wrongfully!) fired and their acting like I'm going to blow the place up or something which is tempting...but I'm too pretty for jail Soooo we are going to this old mansion called meadowbrook which has beautiful green grass and gardens

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? His hands and back...OH and his butt!

Opinion on cash bars? I honeslty think they are cool...I wouldn't be offended if I attended a wedding with a cash bar because I understand weddings are expensive...

Are you doing a first look? Nooope I don't even want to spend the night with him before the wedding...I want him to see me walking down the aisle ahh I get all excited thinking about it!

I would love to have them taken in the gardens at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  They have one of those LOVE statues, like in Philly and NY.

His eyes.  Gets me every time.  :-)

I don't mind them when I'm a guest, but we're providing alchohol, just beer and wine.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? LOVE his hair. I'm actually jealous of it. It's very soft and shiney, lol

Are you doing a first look? No, his family is very traditional. I think they would think I'm nuts if I suggested this lol, and I like the idea of looking at each other fresh while I'm walking down the aisle to stand by him

Real kitchen stuff! Most of our stuff is crappy pink stuff I got in college

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? I love his hands. He has big strong man hands and I find comfort in knowing he is a hard worker and will take care of our future family.

Opinion on cash bars? I have been to weddings that have them. I think we are going to do a beer and wine open bar.

What are the top few things you are going to register for?  The only thing that I REALLLY want are new dishes.  Other than that FI and I have so many kitchen gadgets and other things since we both love to cook and last christmas our family loaded us up.  We will actually be "registering" for our honeymoon.  A lot of our friends have done this over the past few years and its a great option for couples who already live together and dont need a ton of new stuff.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? His amazing blue eyes.

Opinion on cash bars? I agree with littlemoments about this- I have never been to a wedding with a cash bar and do find it a little tacky.  However I also understand that a budget is a budget but in my opinion i think you should try to cut cost elsewhere.

Are you doing a first look?  I am on the fence.  I haven't even brought up to FI yet so we will see!

Thanks! Its a very beautiful vintage place, a lot of people around this area get their E-pics done there. The search for a photographer continues...I have 2 appts. both of them are around the same price which is nice the only thing that sucks is my Fiance can't come to either of the appts. so I'm feeling the pressure to chose the right one!

What are the top few things you are going to register for?
I honestly don't want to do a registry because we don't need anything. We'll also probably be moving the following month and I don't want more crap to pack/move. I'm also really fussy on household stuff. FMIL bought us a microwave for Christmas and I hate it.

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that?
No. We didn't really do e-pics but we did? Our parents wanted a picture of us that didn't have us sticking our tongues out or making stupid faces so for Christmas we got them pro pics. Which expanded to everyone in both  families wanted one.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI?
I like hi eyes.

Opinion on cash bars?
I don't care. I think it's pathetic for people to assume free stuff just as much as it for the bride/groom to expect people to pay/get gifts. FI and I aren't big drinkers and his mother is an alcoholic. We have two options, dry wedding or cash bar. We also don't have a venue that does open bars and they're ridiculously hard to get a license forwhere I live. Nobody does them for that reason. Wine is being served for dinner though. And obviously pop/water is free. But I refuse to have my FMIL drink us into debt and she would. It sucks that everyone else gets the short end of the stick because of one person but at least this way here they have the option to drink.

Opinion on cash bars? I don't mind if a wedding I'm attending has one unless the venue is expensive or there are $5000 worth of flowers and the bride is wearing vera wang. Then I mind. Because they can afford it they're just choosing not to.

Are you doing a first look? Yes! I just think our timeline works better with a first look and I want to enjoy my cocktail hour!

Opinion on cash bars? I don't care if I go to a wedding where there is one, but I want to try to avoid it at my own wedding.  I feel that if I'm inviting someone to a party, I should try to cover the costs of the bar.  I have thought about maybe doing a beer/wine/sig cocktail bar, and then if someone wants something else they can pay. 

Are you doing a first look?  I don't want to, but I haven't made up my mind about it yet.  It can save a ton of picture-taking time after the ceremony!

I don't really know yet. We've lived together for a while so we have most things we need and we also have a fairly small place so don't really have room for a bunch of stuff. We'll probably try to upgrade what we do already have, since most of our stuff (especially kitchen) is hand-me-down

We're not doing engagement pictures, we just didn't really care to do them...

In my area most people do a cash bar so I know it's said to be "bad etiquette" but I guess that's a regional thing, it's pretty much expected here. We're having red and white wine on each table and providing non-alcoholic punch and water, and then having a cash bar for other alcohol

No no no! I think it's a cute idea in theory but for me it would take away from the moment of walking down the aisle. Plus my mom would kill me if we did this, because her favourite part of a wedding is watching the groom's face when he first sees his future wife

What are the top few things you are going to register for? I don't think we will be registering. The custom here is to give the couple money or deposit it into a designated account. What's your favorite physical trait about your FI? Like BmoreBride...His hair (I'm also jealous of it!). I also think he has a fantastic smile.

Opinion on cash bars? If they're done out of financial need fine or other such good  reasons,  they're fine. If they're just done to be cheap, not a fan.

Are you doing a first look? Nope. I initially didn't care but FI is traditional and didn't want to. Now I think he's tempted but I'm more and more excited about him seeing me for the first time at the ceremony.

I love going to weddings where it is open bar, but completely understand it's a huge cost and one that can fluctuate a lot. I'm definitely having an open bar for cocktail hour and maybe wine pour during dinner and then cash bar after or limited wine/beer/sig drink open bar during the event.

No, he won't be seeing me after we leave the rehersal dinner until I walk down the aisle.

What are the top few things you are going to register for?
FI and I need a new washing machine and dryer. The ones we have are going on 20 years old next summer so I can see them dying soon, they currently work fine, but nothing sucks more than having to drag all your washing to the laundry mat.  Other than that there isnt a whole lot we need or want.

We're thinking of doing our epics at a historical park here in Ottawa this fall.

I have no problem with them. Every wedding I've been to has been a cash bar but wine was provided. FI and I are probably having a cash bar because we honestly coudlnt afford the drinking habits of our friends and most of our family. I can see it now its gonna be one heck of a drinking party.

I don't think so. I like the idea but I know FI won't want to do this. He's not even willing to look at dresses that I llike.

What are the top few things you are going to register for?
Hmmm, haven't really thought about it yet.  I secretly hope that we just get cash. (Don't worry, I am not going to include that on the invites)  We have been living together for almost 2 years and don't really need anything as far as house supplies.

Do/did you have a specific location to take e-pics at? A special place or anything like that?
I would like to have them done at a local farm.  There is an old manor there that would be an interesting backdrop as well as animals to interact with.  I wanted to have them done at a zoo but I think it would be too much trouble with crowds and such.

What's your favorite physical trait about your FI?
I love his arms, his eyes.  I am also completely jealous of how athletic he is and anytime he is playing football, it makes me crazy.

Opinion on cash bars? NBD! I have never been to a wedding without one and I had never even heard of an open bar before joining TK.  There are bigger problems in the world than cash bars.

Are you doing a first look? No.  I know that both of us will be nervous and could use some pre-wedding talking but I want his reaction to be in-the-moment and we will have the rest of our lives to talk all we want.
