"Arts Ballroom

Anyone know about Arts Ballroom in Center City?  Steven Starr is the caterer. Seems pretty interesting.

I emailed them when I was venue shopping.  They took over a month to respond (but I had to have my email passed along b/c the link was wrong), so I had already booked a venue by that time and deleted the info they sent, otherwise I'd pass it along to you.  From what I remember, its about $150-$160pp (I think, but am not pos, that that's pre-tax and tip), and it's BYO.  The stations package would be the one where you'd pick which Starr restaurants to have food from - so you could get a station from El Vez, one from Budakkon, etc.  And that's more expensive than the sitdown option, which was a traditional steak/chicken/fish sitdown dinner, without the Starr restaurant specific food.  I think servers, linens, etc were all extra, too....

Definitely email them for more specifics, as I'm going off of memory here.  It looks like a really awesome space!  If you look, definitely let me know what you think!  I'd love to hear a "review" from someone who's seen it first hand!

Also, have you looked into the "Top of the Tower"?  I was looking back at your original post about venues where you said you wanted a space iwth a wow factor, and Top of the Tower might work for that, too.  It's high up in a building right by the Comcast Center --- I've never been in there, but the pics look cool.  FI and I were interested in it, but for a wedding of our size it looked like the dinner would be in one room and the dancing would be in another, which I really hated.  But in your original post you said you'd have a smaller wedding, so you might be able to do everything in one room if that's still true.

Also, what about the Kimmel Center?  We looked there and LOVED it --- but they're redoing the balcony where they host parties and didn't have blueprints yet.  The rennovation will be awesome but won't be done until next winter.  As we wanted a spring wedding, I was too nervous to commit to something I hadn't seen.  But if you're okay with that or are getting married later on, that could be a neat choice too!

Feel free to PM me if you want, I do have a sample menu from Kimmel (who is catered by Wolfgang Puck exclusively, now).  I found their pricing hard to understand, so I asked the woman to send me the prices for an actual wedding taking place there so that I could understand all of the costs.

Also feel free to PM me about generalities - it seems like we've looked at many of the same places and have somewhat similar taste in spaces.

  • So I am booked at the Arts Ballroom and it's nothing what you have just said.  It's 135pp for Saturday.  The food options are not chicken/steak/fish...it doesn't cost more for stations either.
I e-mailed and had my info within 2 days and we set up a time to see it.  Staff was fab. The place is amazing!

SS catering and yes you can get from other SS rest.  It doesn't cost more though.

Hi, the ARTS Ballroom looks amazing - what is the site fee for a Saturday evening?  and does that include an on-site ceremony??
