okay... whaddaya think? WR--table numbers

I went to Michaels today and I picked up a bunch of things to DIY table numbers. Damask-patterned scrapbook paper... purple cardstock... a cute stamp...

This is what I'm doing to do: cut out 4x6 retangles in the damask... cut out an oval in the purple cardstock, reinforce it somehow (poster board maybe?) and then put the number in the purple oval. 

My question is:

1. Do you think I should put a bit of glitter on the edges of the numbers, or is that too much?

2. Should I get free-standing wire holders... or should i get ones that will stick in my floral centerpieces?  The ones that stick in the centerpieces are about $1 less each, but I also don't know it will look like a last-minute thing if I stick them in there.

I don't think the glitter is too much really, I guess I would have to see one with and without. 

I know they have cute white picture frames at IKEA.... http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30151035 you could spray paint them if you wanted.... idk if you wanted something like that. I like them, but my DOC is doing my table numbers, so I don't have to really worry about that.

re: the placement of the numbers, ours were stuck in the centerpieces and I never thought they seemed "last minute". Ours also weren't as fancy/elaborate as yours, though. They sounds really nice!!

Ours were just potted plants (zinnias?) that we transferred to galvanized pots. I stenciled the #s on cardstock cut-outs in yellow and green.

I don't know if I want to do frames, simply because I'm scrapbook layering them...  And I would be afraid that the glass in the frame would push it down.  I could just not put the glass in it, maybe.

Madam--did you DIY centerpieces, or did you have them done?  Mine are included with the venue... and they have a lot of flowers in them.  Maybe I can call them and see if they think it would be doable.

Edited because I was distracted by your picture and didn't read.  I'm just worried that what I'm doing wont "jive" with what the florist is doing.

DIY... My FIL is a landscaper and bought wholesale potted plants for us. We were able to just drop them into cute little galvanized pots I ordered online. I also ordered the "stakes" online. Then I made the #s myself with stuff from Michael's. Saved us a ton of money. And it went with the style of our wedding perfectly. I like to call it "comfortable, familiar and summery"

Are your numbers attached to the little card you get in bouquets?  That's cute!  I thought about using those.  But idk.  It's hard for me to figure out what i want them to look like because I'm not making the centerpieces.

We are using those IKEA frame for our table numbers - they were $1 each so I couldn't resist :)

The frames B2B is talking about are doublesided. We were able to get the 2 plastic panes, 2 sheets of thick glitter paper (from Michael's scrapbooking aisle) and 2 cardstock sheets into creat the ones I posted above. It was tight, but if you're using all paper , I think you'd be okay.
