Cake Jewelry

I was thinking of having my cake designed something similar to this. But not the flowers on top. Are these brooches (sp?) normal fashion brooches or a certain kind of cake jewelry. Our venue is supplying the cake but we would have to bring our own extras, such as cake toppers, ribbons, or cake jewelry.

Re: Cake Jewelry

  • I'm pretty sure they're cake jewlery- maybe even edible??

We are having rhinestones on our cake, but I don't think they're edible- getting them from Michael's.

  • OMG I LOVE THAT!!!!!!
  • That cake is gorgeous! They could be either. I can't believe some of the things made that are edible. They look like the real deal.

  • they're probably broaches.  if you google them, you'll probably find a few sites..etsy is a good place to start!
  • I dont know that those are edible- id ask your cake person what they may have used thats similar.
    they look stunning though!
if its a brooch- check out fabulousbrooch.com, they are pretty and cheap! or etsy as littlemoments suggested.

  • That's a gorgeous cake! After watching those shows on Food Network I could believe anything being edible so I would definitely contact a baker or your cake contact with the venue.

Thank you for the suggestion. I checked etsy and the brooches were around $40-$60. I will need four so that is not an option. I'll probably go ahead and buy the non-edible ones so I can reuse them again later. I found a brooch on there for $3.50, can't beat that.
