Morning of Wedding Attire

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but do any of you plan on wearing matching Bride and Bridesmaid or Team Bride shirts the morning of your wedding while you get ready?

I just started thinking about doing this and decided I'd prefer a white tank top that says "Mrs. FI's last name" than "Bride" because I can see myself wearing it a lot.

I asked my sister for her opinion and she got excited about wearing a bridesmaid tank top. Since I don't know how often my bridesmaids will want to wear a "Bridesmaid" or "Team Bride" shirt again, I insisted that I pay for them. I found some cute ones on Etsy that were less than $20 a piece.

If you are getting tank tops or t-shirts made for you and your bridesmaids, what do they say and where are you getting them from? About how much are you spending?

  • That's cute!

I don't think I'm going to do something like that. We'll just be sexy with our button down shirts and leggings while we get ready!! That's what we all did for my friend's wedding the other weekend. A lot of us borrowed our dad's huge button shirt, it was funny.

Those are cute! I got my girl's BM t-shirts with their names on it, but only b/c I was able to get them for free from VP, and these are more to wear the night before to sleep in. I am giving each one an aqua waffle robe with their name stiched on the front side, and one for myself in white. We'll wear those while getting ready in the morning.

  • One of my friends asked me if we can get tanks. But, I kinda poo-pooed the idea. They're cute, but honestly, I wouldn't ever wear mine again. I don't think I'd even wear "bride" or "Mrs. FI's lastname" to the gym. So, for me, it would be a waste. However, if you know you'll wear yours again, then go for it! I'll probably just wear a pair of athletic shorts and a plain tank.

I agree with this especially if it will be a part of their gift.  I would rather a  nice $20 bottle of wine that I will enjoy :)

  • I'm not planning anything like this. I'll probably just wear something comfy, or maybe even a cute dress to get ready in.
    Photobucket
  • I am going to wear a strapless beachy type dress for getting ready so that way I can just step out of it and not have to pull anything over my head when getting ready.  All of the 'bride' and 'Mrs. Whatever' shirts are not my style.

  • I'm not doing the shirts because I feel like no one will use them again. As part of their gift I got my girls white waffle robes with their names in purple. I have one too. So I figure we'll wear those to get ready.

  • This thread just made me realize that I really want to copy Bmore and bridetobe and get my girls robes. I also want to get all the parents and my fiance hankies thanks to all the posts from yesterday. I need to get my butt off of Etsy!!!!

Bmore and bridetobe, how long did it take to get your robes back from your sellers on etsy?? I wonder if I even have enough time...

Like butterfly said, I ordered robes from a seller on Etsy for my girls as part of their "gift" - they'll wear them again after the wedding I would hope since there's no "Bridesmaid" on them. They aren't personalized, but I did get them made to their measurements, so they should fit really well. Mine does (I got a white one for myself).

My mom also bought me a neglige and robe to wear from Neiman Marcus, not knowing that I ordered myself a robe from etsy already. It was INCREDIBLY expensive and is a little sheer, so I may just save that for the "night of the wedding" festivities.

Butterfly, mine took FOR.EV.ER. They are super cute, and I'm happy I got them, but they literally took ages. She claimed that she had an issue because the first batch of fabric was "damaged" and she wouldn't use them for the robes (which I appreciate) but I think they took like 2 months to actually come in.I wouldn't recommend her only for that reason. The robes are a bit thin, too, and there's no loop for the belt, so it's kind of annoying to tie them. So, all in all, I paid a lot of money for something I'm not ecstatic about. I wouldn't want you to do the same! Even though they're cute.

  • @Butterfly - mine took about a month, so you still have time to go for it! I used THIS shop. Her communication style was kind of weird, but I'm happy with the end result.

  • Instead of getting a typical Bride shirt, I got this one on Teefury (awesome place for nerdy shirts) http://www.redbubble.com/people/khallion/works/8718240-bride-nouveau-tee-fury-version?p=t-shirt

I figure that shirt plus some shorts and flip flops and I'll be good to go!

  • MY FSIL got me VS bride Robe, so I'm thinking I will wear that with a tank/shorts underneath. I've always wanted one of these :-) Sadly I don't know when it will be worn other than this day though.
I don't think it's worth spending the money on bridesmaids tanks because as PP's said, they probably won't wear them again and something like wine is way more exciting! lol.
I'm trying to convince my MOH not to make the girls order tanks for my bachelorette party because I know all of the shirts Ive had to buy for other bachelorette parties sit in the back of my drawer. My idea is to have all of the girls bring a colored tutu to wear and we'll go out during the day in our tutus walkign down the strip in Vegas or by the pool, I'm totally obsessed with them right now, partly because my Fi's 2 1/2 yr old daughter is in love with tutu's. I'm a dork I know!

  • My FSIL had a light zip-up hoodie made for me that says Bride on the back. I will probably just wear that with a tank top and yoga pants. I'm not going to get bridesmaid shirts for my bridesmaids though because they will never be able to wear them again. I will be able to wear my hoodie again because my new last name will be Bride!

  • I wouldn't get tanks. 1) it's not likely that they'll wear them again and 2) I wouldn't want to chance trying to get them off after hair/makeup.
  • I'm not getting them for my BMs, but I did get one for myself that says "bride" in rhinestones. However, I found it on Etsy that was the seller's sample for under $10 lol so I figured I can wear it around the house or sell it afterward. As others have said, I figured they will never wear them again. If I got them anything, it would only have their first names on it, I think...like the tote bags I got them for gifts are only first names.

  • A comfy button down shirt and shorts for me that way I know I will not mess up hair or make up
