Ideas in my head

for my bridemaid's that I have yet to pick lol. I would like them to wear black short dresses with a red bouquet, matching red shoes maybe a bold red necklace and a red bird cage veil. I'm thinking about having my bridemaids wear bird cage veils like this but in red:
 




Do you think the bold red necklace will be overkill?

I do not think it would be overkill to add the necklace, and think it would look pretty. I love bold necklaces - they really pull outfits together, at least in my opinion.

The only thing is I honestly wouldn't want my BMs wearing veils -- I think that's for the bride! But I'm also kind of traditional like that, I suppose. I can see it looking really, really cute and put-together with them all wearing it, but I still wouldn't do it personally. That's just my opinion, though, so take it with a grain of salt

No I'm not wearing a bird cage veil. I think I'm going to wear a cathedral for the ceremony and for the reception I may wear a fascinator that matches one of the flowers on my dress.

I like the necklace idea but not the veil...what about cute fancy headbands?

In the 80s my aunts BM wore hats with birdcase veil on them.  So it's not insane.  Also my H is English and women wore hats to our wedding some had veil on it.  

I think you need to buy the neckalces, veil, and shoes in this case and IMO it does not "count" as the gift since it's for your wedding.
