Here we go again...

So my FI went to his post op appointment yesterday from his sinus surgery.  They now want to take his tonsils out, since they are huge and may also be obstructing his breathing.  He goes in 26 April for the pre-op appointment for that.  So I'm preparing to play nurse again the second week in May.

After he heals from the tonsillectomy, they want him to start looking into getting facial reconstruction.  He has an extreme underbite.  This will include taking bone out of his bottom jaw etc, it's pretty intense.  This is the one that petrifies him.  He really doesn't want to do it, but everytime he sees a doctor they tell him it needs to be done.  This will be done by the Army, and they will extent his service time until he recovers.

So T&P for him please.  It's going to be a rough couple of months...  Plus side, we'll be in the house before his big surgery, and I'm sure his mama will stay with us a while when he first goes in.  And my parents will be 12 miles away instead of 40, so I'm thankful he has a great support system.

T&P - the army is REALLY going to extend his service time for a neccesary surgery?

Aw, I'm sorry mana.  If it's necessary for your FI to get all those surgeries, its better now than later (the tonsils should be relatively easy).  I hope his recovery goes smoothly.  And yay for being in the new house and having care resources available to you both!

T&P to you and FI, Mana.  Sounds like some painful stuff but it's great that'll you'll both have support nearby.

T&P, Mana! You'll be closer to me by then, so I can always swing by or you can come dancing with me if you need to get out of the house. :)

T & P. That is a lot for him to go through!! Is the jaw surgery really necessary? It sounds really painful to me. I feel like a lot of people live their whole life with an underbite.

Thanks all!  I'm glad we have supportive people all around.  Oodsie was right with her post yesterday, this is a GREAT group!

SteveandKris - it's actually a good thing they extent his time, so he's covered under health insurance and everything is free, plus he'll get pay etc.  Once he's released and better his time will end then.  I don't htink he'll have to report

Rachel - his underbite makes it so it's impossible for him to fully shut his mouth.  So even though they fixed his nose and throat, he'll still breath thur his mouth until they can fix it.
