We're renting from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals and are borrowing tables and chairs form my dad's friend who owns a rental business in Northern Virginia. We bought table linens and flatware to sell back later. Depending on the deals you get/ how far you have to travel, a mix of renting/buying can save money in the long run.

I'm renting tables/chairs and big items from Ocean Atlantic- they were really helpful when I went in to talk with them. Also I appreciate that their delivery fee is 25$ flat fee!

I'm purchasing things like silver chargers, flatware, glasses(work out to 60cents a glass versus 45 and then I can use them or sell them!). We are using lots of family china settings to have a vintage feel to it as well.

Also the table linen rentals were expensive in my opinion- you can buy them for less and then resell them, same with linen napkins etc.

Goodluck in finding what is right for you and your budget!

Renting tables, chairs, glassware and some plates from Metro.  Bought linens, flatware, chargers, plates and glasses and will resell.  Some things didn't make sense to rent, plus I wanted to personalize a little more.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.  Have you found any helpful websites to purchase linens, flatware, etc., or are you finding themin brick and mortar stores?

Oh yes.  There are a few, depends on what color you're looking for etc.  LTC is great.  Always have coupons and free shipping on $50+.  They also have a flash sale right now.

I got our napkins on ebay (48c per, including shipping). My mom and I got the flatware from Walmart. Each piece was 50c. You do have to go to more than 1 Walmart to stock up.  We used linentablecloth.com for the tablecloths.  I'd check Craigslist and ebay for larger lots of items too.

I'm renting table and chairs.  I bought my table linens from CVlinens.  My caterer is providing the linen napkins.  I actually bought that china-looking plastic plates, bowls, silverware, cups.  Easy cleanup and it looks real!

Thanks for all of the advice!  I'm having a really hard time finding the right tablecloths (I think I want a tangerine/nectarine color... something between orange and gold).  But I don't want satin; I would love to do the pintuck or crushed taffeta, but I need 108" which is a hard size to find.

I stopped by Ikea today and they have a lot of silverware/glassware.  I've also been looking at Craigslist.  Hopefully everything turns up somewhere.

    Also found this website: http://www.razatrade.com/

They seem to have more variety of colors. than any other website I've seen; they're easier to navigate than most too  You can buy them in bulk (10 packs) or "samples" (1 at a time).  The Budleigh has mostly 4ft tables, which requre a 108" tablecloth to reach the floor.
