Music - can you list your vendors

Hey there! Happy hump day to you. And to all of you other teachers getting your rooms ready - I hope you're having a smooth start.

Anyhoodle- I was wondering if you could list your vendors for music

1. Beach Music - are you having violin/nothing/ipod (if ipod, how are you hooking this up?)

2. reception- wedding singer (right after I typed that I was thinking of adam sandler. haha)/DJ/ipod (again, how are you hooking this up)

Thanks! Hope you're having a good week so far :)

    Hey Teach!

    1) Beach Music- We are having a solo violinist from Club Violin play for our ceremony. (www.clubviolin.com) They have been nothing but wonderful to work with and our violinist gave us lots of music choices and played them all for us. It's about $300 for this but I really wanted it so it was my one splurge :)

    2) Reception- We are using DJ Mike Smith (obxdj.com). We interview TONS of DJs. Seriously, like probably almost every DJ in the area and Mike was the only one who didn't creep me out, ask if I wanted him to also make balloon animals or tell dirty jokes. LOL So, that's why we chose him.

Happy Hump to day to you as well! Hope this helps in your search.

    omg Sarah, that's wicked funny!

Teach-  we're using an ipod for the ceremony.  Still have to work out the details on this and I hope it goes okay...we have an awesome "docking station" (aka speakers it just plugs into) that is battery run and has a remote, so someone will be in charge of that.  I think we'll stick it under one of the benches so it's hidden.

For reception we're using Matt Cooper from Music Masters.  I heard DJ Bruce J is awesome too.

I used my iPod for both the ceremony and reception.  The Aquarium had a sound system that we could use.  I ended up have to burn CD's at the last minute our computer craps out after being on a certain amount of time.

You can check into the rental companies out there.  I think Metro Rentals and there's and electronic rental company (can't remember the name) that rent speakers and all the equipment that you would need to plug an iPod up.

For my daughter's wedding we are using DJ Bruce Jones. He will provide the pre-ceremony music, the ceremony music, and the reception music. Our wedding coordinator, Laura (Sugar Snap Events), suggested him. All of our vendors have given us great reviews on him. We met with him two weeks ago...I think we will be very pleased with his services. Even some of the locals told us we made a good choice!

We're going with Artz OBX. Sue Artz is playing violin during the ceremony and will DJ during the reception. She and her husband work as a team and he is doing our photography (although you can book them separately).

We used All The Right Grooves for both cermony and reception.  They are not from OBX but they are willing to travel.  I know a few brides on the board have used them.
