Ortegaz catering

Is anyone using Ortegaz as their caterer?  If so what dishes have you chosen?  Have you gone to do a tasting yet?
I'm thinking of going with them but have no idea what dishes would be good.

Hi Well and welcome to the board!

What part of VA are you in?  I am in Richmond :)

I believe that JAK is using them....or at least considering them.  She said she really enjoyed the tasting a few weeks ago, but I'm sure she can give you all of the details.

Tell us a little about yourself....there is a thread down below that SarahBrown created so that we can all keep track of one another, dates, colors, theme, venue, etc.  We would love for you to fill this out so we can share our details with you too.

Also, there is a FB group called "OBX 2011 Knotties" so please feel free to join that as well :)

Congrats on your engagment and you will find this board and the ladies and 1 gent (Rick is awesome btw, lol) are beyond helpful!

Thanks!  I'm in Charlottesville!  I'll definitely add to SarahBrowns post, although I haven't finalized many details yet.

YESSSSSSSSS!  Sorry, my laptop went dead so I haven't been here for a while.  Using Ortega'z and I LOVE them, seriously love.  I have been craving the food since we last went!  I am heading to the OBX next week and they are my first stop.  I can't wait to introduce my mom to them.

We did a tasting, an amazing experience if you haven't done so yet.  They feed you everything you may possibly consider for food.  From the tasting, we are doing a nacho bar with queso, black bean dip, guac, and salsa (all homemade, including the chips), sausage stuffed mushrooms, pork taquaitos and crab cakes.

Din is two serving stations, a traditional station with a beef carving and the fixing, and a southwest station with fajitas, and seafood paella.  We are also doing late night snack menu, chesse burger sliders, fries, pizza, chicken fingers.  We are also considering dessert through them since it may be the best dessert I have ever had and we are not going to do a cake.

I hope that helps, but feel free to email me or PM if you want to look at my proposal.  I also loved the owners, they def wanted to make the meal about us.  I highly recommend them from my experience so far!
