Wedding Dress and Tux

How far out did all of you order your wedding dresses? It has occurred to me looking at my wedding ticker that I am somehow into 10 mo, (Where the heck did this summer go?!)

As for the tux...(rick, this is where I could really use your advice)... My sweetie wants to wear a classic black tux with a bow tie..but he doesn't think his groomsmen need to worry about tuxes. He said they can be more casual... but he doesn't know what they could wear.

As of this moment, our colors are purple, blue (between turquois and teal), and green. Picture a peacock feather....any suggestions on what the guys should wear?

I think you need to go ahead and order your dress.  I am a little under 9 months out, and I ordered mine a few weeks ago.  They lady said they take 6 months to make, and then I will have to do several fittings as well.  She said she always suggests girls order them around 10 months, so they can have plenty of time for alterations.  

As for the guys, maybe they can wear black pants, a button down, and a tie to be more relaxed.  Maybe they could wear a purple or blue shirt, and then the tie could incorporate all the peacock colors.  My fiance wants to wear a khaki suit, so I am thinking I won't make his guys wear a jacket at all.

I ordered mine 9 months out.  They stated it would take at least 6 weeks to get it into the store.  I am glad I ordered when I did.  In March that style was discontinued and the only dresses that were available were the store samples.

I ordered mine 10 months out and it took about 4 months to get it into the store. I'd order now. You can do fitting whenever, but not if your dress isn't there

I just ordered my dress on Saturday - Im about 9 1/2 months out. The shop where I ordered from told me to expect it in around January.

I ordered mine 6 months out to the day. With alterations done I'll be picking it up exactly 1 month before our wedding. So, order it with at least 6 months lead time I'd say.

As far as your GMs, what if they did a white shirt and tie, just no jacket? That way your Groomy would stand out.
