Hey everyone,
I just got married last week in Hatteras at an event home (Here Comes the Sun!) Hurricane Earl passed though 2 1/2 days before we were supposed to go down. But we ended up having a beautiful week, no rain whatsoever until yesterday when we were leaving. Here are some of the vendors I used:
Hatteras Realty - Loved them! They switched event coordinators recently but the one I had continued to answer all my questions. Everyone there was so helpful. They had tons of facebook updates too during the hurricane, which helped ease my stress a little.
Daniel Pullen Photography - We loved Daniel and his wife Kate. They are so personable and sweet. All of our guests loved them also, we had so many people tell us how nice they were. They showed us a few pictures on there camera that night and we can't wait to see the rest. Daniel stayed an extra hour almost with us because people were starting to get in the pool. We also ended up doing a trash the dress shoot with them. They spent 3 hours almost with us and definitely didn't charge us for all of there time. You can tell they love doing what they do.
Every Blooming Thing - Jinny the owner is so sweet. I met with her last year and she was so helpful then. She gave me a list of vendors on the island that she recommended. I booked her last year but we didn't really start talking specifics until about 2 months out. She gave me flower ideas in the colors I wanted and answered any questions I had. But she said brides change their minds so much so she didn't want to put our flower choices in writing until then. I thought this was odd because I really thought I knew what I wanted. But sure enough, 2 months beforehand I ended up changing my mind from an all pink bouquet to a pink and orange bouquet. Our wedding was on Tuesday and we didn't leave until Sunday and our flowers were still so fresh looking, only a few were starting to dry out on the ends. I didn't want to throw them away.
Outback Kitchen - We met with Kylie the owner last year and she gave us a quote then. We ordered our cake through them. I had a few questions over the course of the year and she was sometimes a little hard to get ahold of. I'm not hard to please and I kept telling myself that they are on "island time." Let me just tell you the cake looked and tasted AMAZING. The best wedding cake I've had hands down, and I used to work in a restaurant so I've tasted quite a few. Definitely worth it in the end. We were eating it the whole week. Everyone loved it.
Hatteras Wedding Ministries - Bonnie Williams was our officiant. She is so helpful and sweet. We loved her. Always a quick response when we emailed her too.
Spa Koru - They did my manicure and pedicure. I had my mom do my hair and I did my own makeup with the help of a friend who did my eyes. I really only had to make an appointment and show up but they did a great job.
I think thats about it, we had family friends that live in Elizabeth City, NC do our catering which was awesome. So we didn't need any local vendors for that.
