So yesterday we had a full day. We met Lisa and Marcello Ortega at Ortega'z. Its the PERFECT catering for us! They are a Southwestern Grill and we want fajitas. I loved their ideas. We wanted to do a fajita bar. They recommended two made to order fajita stations where the meat will be mostly cooked already to cut down on individual meal preparation. They also recommended this Southwestern Lasagna that they make. It was amazing! It had layers of tortillas, rather than lasagna noodles, perfectly flavored pulled chicken, cheese, corn, black beans. We just loved it. Their tortilla chips are homemade and delicious. They will also pass southwestern egg rolls and this shrimp ceviche in adorable plastic martini glasses. Their pricing was right in line with our budget.
Ortega'z is right across the alley from 108 Budleigh. They will provide white or black napkins at no charge if you are getting married in 108 Budleigh. Also, they will include plates and silverware at no additional cost. We just have to rent or purchase the linens. I want my napkins folded in a certain way but they will let me pick them up a few days early to have it done ahead of time. I just loved them. They are a great family owned business.
We also met with John Harper and booked him before we left! John lives in Manteo right behind the Budleigh. For the linens, I think we are going with Shindigs. Also owned by the Fearings (they own 108 Budleigh). If we rent from them, all we have to do is toss the linens in the corner and their cleaners will take care of them!! I guess we are just going with the full Manteo family!
