Beer In a Glass or Bottle?

Ok, so BoderBoo and I have differing opinions on how beer should be served....so we are taking it to the Knotties!

I think it's perfectly fine to have a half keg of Fat Tire, which would obviously be poured into glasses.  We are also going to offer Miller Lite and Bud Light in bottles....and here is the problem:

I think it's perfectly acceptable for people to walk around with a bottle of beer in their hand while BBoo feels that every beer should be poured into a glass.

What do you think?

I'm 50/50 on this one.  I think we're doing pilsner glasses, but I think bottles are just fine in this situation because it's casual and it's the beach.  In fact, I thought of getting a big tub with ice.  But I think I may do the glasses because we have the bartenders.

I voted for beer in bottle but I was really tempted to vote with the beer bong option as well....who says you can't have it all? Who says?

I voted right outta the bottle.  I've worked tons of weddings and most all of them were right out of the bottle.  Now if it were cans, that may be a different story lol.  Plus, having bartenders take the time to pour them into a glass slows service down

Bottles are fine and so are glasses!!!!! ha Sorry Im no help...

Since our reception is at our event home, we are getting kegs and "nice" plastic cups!

OBX- I voted for right out of the bottle but I'm mixed too! We are most likely having kegs for the simple fact that our reception is at our house as well and cleaning up bottles will be much more work than cleaning up "nice" plastic cups as Krhoy said!

But, I think either way is ok. Pouring into a glass is a nice idea but Hibiscus is right in that it would slow down service for sure having to wait for foam to settle, etc.

even some of the "fancier" weddings I've been too, the bartender just hands you the bottle; I think it's PERFECTLY fine!  We all chose OBX for its beach/laid back/party atmosphere right?!  And that's what I think all our guests are expecting; either way, I think right out of the bottle is totally acceptable!  besides, it's more GREEN!  Let's save some plastic!!!

Who cares?!  The beer will taste the same!  The most important thing is that you will have beer!!!!!!  )

I was bummed that I didn't see the option "Tri colored 16oz Solo cups including Blue, Yellow and Red", but understandable.  I voted for bottles.  Besides a Keg, it's how beer was meant to be drank.

I was thinking about this some more and was thinking that some people prefer to drink it out of the bottle.  If they see a bartender pouring it into a glass, they may tell them to stop and inevidibly you may have people drinking out of bottles even if you (or your momma!) don't want them to.  Just food for thought, and honestly, on the day of the wedding it won't matter

I think bottles are fine if you think you're good with them being in the photos. If not cool glasses or even mason jars would be really cool too!

I think it's a matter of preference for the person ordering the drink. We are renting a few glasses, and we are going to tell the bartender to give them an option.  I will definately be having a few....In a glass! I would be mortified if I ended up seeing pics of me swigging from a bottle while in my wedding gown!
