Consider the Tide

Good morning, everybody!

I just came back from a very unexpected, but highly productive trip to the OBX this past week. On my list was to stop by the beach access where we are getting married. I actually had a chance to talk with one of the lifeguards on duty and she was asking me if I was getting married at high-tide or low-tide. As I stared at her like a dear in headlights, it occurred to me that I never really took the time to think of it.

So... wedding lesson from one bride to another - don't forget to consider this! This past week since it was getting closer to a full moon, high tide came WAY up on the beach (nothing like a dramatic wave to wash away your guests! haha) Fortunately, we're getting married at low-tide. (Can I get an Amen!)

If you aren't sure of the tides, I'm sure there's a website you can check. The lifeguard was kind to give us an entire pamphlet of all 2012 tides. I believe the list of the tides is also in the visitor's guide books.
